Something I've been curious about, Lookbehindyou: In the first picture you show, apparently just after you opened the chest, it looks like there are three doubloons stuck inside the metal trim in the interior of the lid. Did you happen to examine those extra closely to see if there was anything unusual about those three? Did you check inside the bit of trim to see if anything else was lodged inside?

I'm guessing you did on both counts, but I can't shake the suspicion that there might be something we missed.

I have checked all coins and there is nothing special about any of them except the one that is broken, which was NOT one of the three in the lid. The cards were all scattered, so no order could be noted. I have removed all purple tape except the four arrows on top which I started to and the top layer of the chest started to peel off and I kinda like the tape on there for souvenir sake (provided they don't want it back when this is all over). Aside from the 5/7 carving, there does not seem to be anything worth noting about the chest. There was nothing in the trim where the coins were stuck, and I've checked the thing dozens of times because after last night's chat, I'm certain we've missed something, but I am at a total loss as to what that is.

I was certain there would be a video of some kind on disc or USB drive, but unless it fell out when we opened the chest, I don't see it. I wish there was a way to know for sure whether or not I made some kind of oopsie.

In regards to the that, I had a thought when we first learned the 3 extra characters (but before we knew the rest of what was in the book)

That Slenderman could be the Guardian.

I thought that because of his apparent protection of MT4!Vinnie.

But then MT4!Jeff's dreams on the other hand, are kind if disturbing, and contradict that. Maybe. Hard to tell with the limited info we have. Sad

Pardon my trees. XP

It's natural to be concerned, but try not to let it eat at you too much, okay? It seems like you've found all there is to be found. You've done a great job. <3

Agreed. You've been fantatic, real above-and-beyond stuff. At this point I'm thinking that you've found all there is. It's plenty of stuff, after all.

Aww. Thanks guys. I believe that if there was something that was dropped accidentally, IE a disc or USB drive, they would figure out a way to integrate it elsewhere. That comforts me at least.

If anything else does come up locally, I'm definitely down to help out in any way I can. I think I'm hooked on these things for life now. Very Happy

Now, if only we'd get an update from the guys on Jessie and what went down today.

It has always been my understanding that Slenderman is not a true guardian because his relationship to MT4!Vinnie was like a toy that he did not want to share. I think the new letter with Jeff adds to the fact that all he wants is the children together for his own purposes, and could not care less about what he does to achieve that.

Slenderman can also be tied as a Voyeur because of his relation to Vinnie (if he is indeed who is being referenced). Then again, if the formula is EMH_character = play_character = personal_demon I don't see the Rake being a guardian in many ways, unless you consider its loyalty to its masters a form of protection. (or maybe how it retrieved the papers when Jeff originally found them? A guardian of information? Stretching it too much?)

I think the Rake is connected to Linnie, who we know too little about so far to form much theory. I think he is also a minion of SM.

You know, in all this excitement, we're forgetting someone:

Alex. What's his connection to all this? After all, his hat was found in the "prize" box, but he's not among the cards, he's not part of the MT4. Alex is a fifth wheel.

He is, in fact, a wild card in the mix. Uncategorized. Actually, he's kind of a joker card...

You know what Alex is? Cannon fodder. His death has been foreshadowed for months and months and now that we know that the cycle eventually calls for Jeff's sibling to go... I'm just waiting for it to happen.

I agree that Alex's demise would seem imminent, but I'm not quite so sure. He is in the 77 of 76 video which seems to be from the future. That would mean he's around for awhile longer. He is kind of a wild card. Unfortunately, there are a slew of others who also fit that bill.

Until box 6 is found, I think we might be playing the waiting game again for any more concrete evidence to support anything right now. And box 6 might not even do the trick. The buildup has been beyond phenomenal, I just hope that everything comes together in the end.

I don't think it was the future. It seemed to be the same day as the first part of taking it back. They just don't remember it somehow.

I hate to say it, but I think Alex is first against the wall here. In fact we need to think of ways to stop this, if we can.

So, Operation: Save Alex is a go. Except how do we do that and what are we saving him from? Being Rake'd? Hung on a tree? From Jeff going crazy?

Send him away? No, Jeff will never go for that. He's putting Alex through school alone, he said so last night.

While Alex has always been designated cannon fodder, he survived the Rake. And he may be the last domino to fall before the Guardian (Jeff) perishes challenging a god. So if we can save him, we have to. We can't let Jeff lose it and go it alone out of grief and rage.

To a degree, I agree with the theory that some things will not be able to be stopped, although trying certainly can't hurt...but even that has been questionable as of late I guess. Jeff is supposed to be the Guardian, but has done a miserable job of keeping his brother safe so far.

I would say having them stick together is the failsafe in any "horror" situation. This is not ideal though in the long term and they are bound to get separated constantly. All it takes is a minute for any one of the antagonists to get him. A minute might even be being generous.
