So...Vinnie started puking up blood once he was near Slendy? Sounds like the same thing that happened to Evan when he went after him. Moral of the story kids, don't fuck with or get close to Slendy,he'll make you spew blood.

LOL @ Bomrek.

I'm not so much worried about the boys turning against one another as I'm afraid they're fated to turn away from one another, per the Everyman Annotations. We shouldn't coddle them, I agree, but--to the extent that we can have any real impact on the proceedings--we should continue encouraging them to trust one another and turn to each other with any weirdness they experience or big ideas they come up with, no matter how crazy.

Trust Mattwan to come up with the classy term for the notes which I will now use forever.

As per unifying them, your letter was perfect for that, man. It was also what I thought was on our collective mind the other night - isn't it better if the Evan/HABIT reveal can come from us from a place of caring and concern as opposed to some inevitable bloodbath which could shatter their trust in each other forever? If Evan becomes an object of care and treatment as opposed to hatred and fear?

It's worth recalling that Evan went rogue from the others once before, in "Injustice." He raged alone at the camera about how they were idiots for not believing in Steph. This was resolved quietly and peacefully when Jeff was convinced by Rhiannon that the videos were real, and decided to trust Steph. Could that have potentially be a trigger for a rift that was denied? I don't think so, but in light of the Annotations and what they describe happening to the guys we have to look closely at everything.

Perhaps the flood in question is not one of Noah, but one of Mars. A torrent not of water, but of blood.

And the waters of Jersey ran red with blood.

I was thinking for a while about Slenderman being the flood that's referred to so often in this mythology-- a disruption, and in many cases an empty slate left when he's finished. Now him being a bloodflood... I don't know what to think of that.

Going back to the topic of all the blood spewing, In the book The Rite, the exorcist that taught the main character told him that the things that the demonically possessed people threw up formed in the mouth and were spewed forth from there. Nails, copious amounts of semen and other bodily fluids, and things like that.

That got me thinking about Slender Man, and with him being a supernatural being, I don't see why he couldn't just do some kind of supernatural crap to make blood leak from every orifice without any internal damage. Evan seemed to heal up pretty quickly after he was spitting up blood, after all.

Just a thought.

well, in my opinion, slenderman causes nosebleeds and such in the same way that say...being in high altitude does.

No, I think it's radiation.

The camera audio reacted very specifically any time the lens panned over that item which is most likely a geiger counter, and it sounded like the sound a old-fashioned geiger counter made when it detected radiation.

Radiation in extreme stages can, I believe, cause all sorts of uncontrolled bleeding. That's what I think SM does to people who come in very close contact or actual physical proximity.

So assuming for a moment it's a geiger counter, who got it? Corenthal? How much did he really know about SM, the power behind the scenes?

Perhaps he simply radiates such evil that those who dare to be near him can feel it in their every cell. A sort of paranormal radiation, if you will.
A cough, a choke, nosebleed, bleeding from the ears. Radiation is not something to be counted out. It is not so improbable that his evil drives the sickness, taking into account he is of paranormal origins. Taking this into account, it is also not too improbable that his sickness will fade if you manage to evade him. If. (Evan was lucky, maybe Slendy appreciated his sassiness.)

Food for thought, I guess.

That'd be quite the change. Slender Man being a mutated survivor of Chernobyl, granted powers by his exposure to radiation.

In all seriousness, I never thought about the Geiger counter doubling as a Slender finder. Interesting.

That would be pretty fucking sweet if Slendy could be detected with a Geiger counter. Creepy as shit because who knows what the levels are and the boys are blasted pretty regularly, but still awesome.

Slenderman acting as a force of nature would be interesting. The thing about forces of nature is that somewhere along the line, something happens that sets them off. There may be no way to avoid it sometimes, but the cause can usually be accounted for. What causes Slendyvisits in this series?

Glad you like the terminology, qaqa. I'm still on board with what the Committee on Srs Bsns decided, but I thought it bore repeating. Smile

I'm not crazy about the idea that Slendy can be detected with a Geiger counter, largely because I like my paranormality and I like my scientism and I like them kept separate, thank-you-very-much.[1]

The handheld device of mystery does seem significant, though, and it did have a distinct reaction when the camera got close. Or, perhaps, the camera had a reaction when the device got close.

So, a tree: The Arkverse is a world that has exhausted its cycles. All the parallel Hybrids have been tried and found wanting, have been reduced to ash, and have been flooded away, along with the rest of the freaking world. The Great God Slendy now has full dominion over that barren, desolate, and very wet dimension; his essence fully permeates that place.

It also permeates artifacts that might have been stolen from that place. Just as Slenders causes major distortion when he's near cameras, Arkverse artifacts, touched with Slendy's shadow, cause minor rumbling when near recording devices in our universe.

Let's make this tree mighty and strong: Maybe Arkverse artifacts can also, if used appropriately, allow passage between our world and the ravaged one.

And with that, I think I've used up my week's supply of insanity.

[1] Oddly enough, I love Reese's Cups; go figure.
