Yeah, grieck, I was worried but you made that letter about as classy as it could get, and it panned out. You get all the props. And obviously the issue still has future relevance.

I don't recall if Jeff got around to answering whether he'd ever known an "Ellie" (from the latest Corenthal letter) during the Angorapocalypse. I think someone tossed that in before the Q&A became moderated and so it may have been lost in the flux.

As for Evan's response and the possible compromise of the EMH emails... Oh damn. Like SUPERdamn. I can't ignore these little nuances, like "-V" instead of "[V]". They guys have always signed that way, surely they'd notice the fact that we are paranoid about other beings posing as them online, and be careful to sign normally. And Evan's carefully written response... I'm willing to believe it was Evan just taking his time... but there is still something a little strange. Not enough to alarm me yet but, strange enough. I can't deny, this could be yet another sign of HABIT infiltrating the account.

All I can think to do is mass tweet HABIT with messages of, "Are you hacking the EMH email account?" or, more simply, "THOSE EMAILS ARE FOR JEFF, VINCE, AND EVAN, NOT YOU." Who knows what that will do, at the least the twitter avenue could be means of communicating this to the guys if we find more reasons to suspect that HABIT really is running interference.

EDIT: on grieck's response letter- Can we compare the times we received Evan's and Jeff's replies? It's disconcerting to see Jeff reply to an email so soon after Evan apparently did... I guess there's a chance Evan just passed it off to Jeff after reading the request that it be for his eyes only.

Speaking of, I tried again with HABIT the other day regarding lunaticfish's theory about his using the trials for a new host. I didn't lay it all out, but I came pretty close and I told him that SM didn't appreciate his talents, was likely to use him and screw him on this if he hadn't done so before, and said we were willing to talk to him about what he wanted. I expect no response but I thought I'd try something different and see if it made him perk up. Or eviscerate me. One of the two, really. Perhaps both.

ETA: Luipaard, Jeff also signed his response to me back in January like that. I don't think we can hold these guys to omnipresent signatures in all media.

I honestly don't think that was sent by Evan. The moment I read the response, my mind jumped straight to Vince. I mean, the improved typing, the sign-off...it just made me think of Vince instantly. Obviously I could be wrong, but it would make sense if it was Vince. That is his style.

ETA: The fact that Jeff signed the same way does through me off a bit, but the e-mail just seems too much like Vince. It doesn't sound like Evan to me.

It sounds like Evan to me, reading through it. The only thing that initially throws me is the typing, but maybe he simply sat down, collected his thoughts before screaming at Mattwan, and made as calm a reply as he could.

The signing issue is not new for email. It's happened for a number of us before in email, I don't think that means anything whereas unsigned tweets or modified ones are curious.

At first, I was under the impression that this was not Evan.
But, after further inspection it really does just appear to be srsbsns Evan.

As opposed to comforting me, it actually just alarms me.
It seems that even though we are pretty sure Vincent is up to something (be it good or bad) that the guys are not gonna give our warnings any creedence.

I do not think this will turn out well.

Personally, I think the guys signing their emails with "-(name)" is just because they lurk here and saw that Vinnie's signing stuff with "-V" bothered you, thought it was a hilarious thing to get worked up over, and are trollin'.

That's just my pet theory, though, since I find it a really amusing nuance to obsess over (shocking, I know xD).
