Can anyone help with this puzzle?

Has any of you ever seen a puzzle/code like the one below?

18:26 + 6:10 | 6:19 | 1:9 | 47:2 | 6:19 | 7:10

1:31 | 31:38 | 6:10 | 12:4 - 47:2

Any help would be great as I don't think I can take any more sleepless nights!!!

It's so hard to try and jump in on stuff like this without context.

Most of the time, the part you left out about where you're getting the puzzle from is the one thing that makes it crackable.

That said...
I wonder what the odds are on each of the entries from the first line being the same word ("And") when you look them up as the first word in chapter and verse in Genesis in a KJV Bible

This is the text that comes with the puzzle?

The National Security Agency have a special mission to send you on. Unfortunately, due to the nature of this mission, we are not in a position to publically post the mission's details here.

To receive the brief for the mission, you need to work out the coordinates. To work out the coordinates, you need to solve the puzzle below.

Godspeed,

Frank B. Montgomery
Director General, National Security Agency
Chief of Staff

There we go. Looks like my initial hunch had merit. All of the verses are in Genesis and all have a number spelled out in them.

When converted, my best guess is
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
53°21'52.7"N 6°20'37.0"E

As it's not in the US (and this comes from the NSA director [Who has questionable grammar and spelling skills for someone in that position]), I may be all wet. The first part may be 5°32'15.27 for all I know.

If treated in the form ## ##.###, it would likely be
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
N53 21.517 W6 20.370, which is in a small forest at Phoenix Park in Dublin (map)

Perhaps time to get some geocaching on? =P I'd be there if I were in Dublin... but is there any indication that this is taking place in
Ireland? Is this actually the puzzle for a geocache?

eta: And bingo... GC2HPB3. *tsk* Dazed&Confused! Jetpack

well at least next time I'm in Dublin (or the first time?) there'll be a solved geocache already ready to pick up...

Ok... So here is the next instalment!!!
Now I am stuck again!!!

The latest puzzle is as follows...

Good Morning operative,
Following on from your previous success with other Government agencies, The Federal Bureau of Investigation hope that you can help us with our latest mission.

Use the information you received at the Top Secret Cache to enable you to get starting coordinates. (The info recieved is... GL4P5XZT)

Until then, there can be no further communication. Over and out,

Bill Bradshaw
Executive Director, FBI
Chief of Staff

Any ideas???

I think you need to get some information from the first geocache before you'll be able to solve this one.

Hi Nickball,

Thanks for replying.

The text in bold (GL4P5XZT) is the information that was retrieved from the 1st cache.

I guess this is another geocache location by the same author as Confidential, but as I'm not a premium member of Geocaching.com, I can't see any of his/her caches.

I did search for 'Top secret cache' and found two but they are not in Ireland

The thing is most of the caches start GC not GL, so is it a GEO LOCATION as opposed to a GEO CACHE.

If it is another cache, it should be in the same area as the last one.

Nick

Look at the top caches in the addy below

http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?country_id=7

use dublin in the dropdown State/Province

Probably to do with'Highly Classified' as this one is by the FBI

If it's nothing to do with these, as the first clue had Godspeed, telling you to look in a bible, then possibly this is to do with Ham Radio/CB Radio, as it finishes with Over and Out.

I'm afraid I'm usless at quizzes / puzzles etc , even though I love them, and I have spent many many hours reading over this site. I love to see how you guys solve things, and hope it keeps my own grey matter ticking over. So thanks for that Very Happy
I'm curious as to why this one hasn't had any help to solve it. I have no clue where I'd start, GL4P5XZT ?? Means nothing to me at all, but you guys have solved puzzles that I'd think would be much harder ..... mmmm ..... curious ......

Geocache puzzle series

Hi, I found this thread when I googled "GL4P5XZT".

I'm on the trail of the same series of caches as Dazed and Confused.

Just to provide some context:
There are three caches in the series. The first is "Confidential", and the solution is as correctly suggested by Rogi Ocnorb. It is indeed in a small forest in the Phoenix Park.

The second is Top Secret, and it doesn't have a puzzle as such, just a distance and bearing from the posted co-ordinates. I found this today, and it contains the information for the third cache, Highly Classified. The information is "GL4P5XZT", together with a cheery note saying "This is all you need!"

Highly Classified has posted co-ordinates N53 19.800 W6 14.000. This is the co-ordinates of the US embassy offices.

It is reasonable to assume that the solution to the puzzle is a set of co-ordinates that are not far from that location (i.e. between 53 19' and 53 21', and between 6 14' and 6 16'), in the format dd mm.mmm d mm.mmm.

It is also interesting that there is a large park, Herbert Park, nearby.

One possible line of inquiry is to turn the letters into numbers according to their place in the alphabet (too simple? Probably!), yielding:
7 12 4 16 5 24 16 20
Tantalisingly, when read backwards, this gives an entirely possible west co-ordinate: 6 14.217, but nothing reasonable for the north co-ord. 6 14.217 could be in Herbert Park.

Man, I'd love to see more puzzles like this in the future. They're tough.
