 		Youtube partner?
Did Marble Hornets become a Youtube partner
I've noticed that recently advertisements play before the Marble Hornets videos? Do this mean Troy applied to become a youtube partner and if he did, in what way does this affect the game itself?

They've been YouTube partners. The new ads showing up are most likely due to advertisers' interests, either directly or indirectly, with the series.

Also, you don't apply for YouTube partnership. I only know this because I've been offered it (ironically enough for a video that would have gotten me crapped on for copyright infringement Razz ). It's based on the rate at which you get views and the number of views you get. My video only had 300 views, but they came in the course of two days - must have thrown up a flag of 'this has potential' (even though it's only gotten to about 400-500 views since then, many months later).

It doesn't really have an impact on the game. Just means Troy gets an extra few dollars a month from the ad revenue. Partnership doesn't really earn much money unless you're getting millions of views per video.

Minus the "n extra". According to them, they don't make any money off Marble Hornets as of now. Good to hear they might at least make some in ad revenue, they're way overdue to see some return on this series.

When they say they don't make any money, I believe they were being a bit hyperbolic. They don't make much. Cents on the thousands-of-views, usually, from what I understand. Adding that up, even with their multitude of views, it doesn't add up to much. The new ads, though, bring in more revenue (the pre-video ads and larger-sized ads bring in more than the text-only ads MH had gotten previously).

It's a variable system, too, so even with the larger ads, they may not make much more. I'm just glad they're getting that now - they deserve it for the effort they put in.

 		Question.
Does adblock affect this? Because I have that on high filters all the time (I really hate advertisements) and I don't wanna jip them.
