thin_kinkles_playhouse did not go hot, so here's my transcript from the crew axon for Ensign krystyn, 10:45 PDT:

thin_kinkles_playhouse wrote:

sound of taping winding up

Sound of Jan coming to.

Bradley: Hey boss, I think she's waking up.

Thin Kinkle: For real, this time?

Bradley: Think so, yeah.

Jan: I ... feel sick.

Bradley: Welcome to Thin Kinkle's Playhouse -

Thin Kinkle: She needs to get her bearings, Bradley, give her a break!

sound of Jan struggling against something that sounds like a chair creaking, or straps of some kind, perhaps made of leather? cord?

Jan: Oh my god, I can't move.

Thin Kinkle: You can move a little, sweetheart ... the chair's stirrups are designed to let you squirrrrmmm! - it's more effective that way. Experience does count for something.

Jan: What do you want from me?

Thin Kinkle: Hey, virtue's intact, sweetheart, don't worry!

sound of tape winding down

(I can maybe try to post the audio later tonight, but the way he says "squirm" makes me wanna sock him one. creepy jerko.)

(I edited this to reflect that I think Bradley says, "Welcome to Thin Kinkle's Playhouse!", now that I've listened to my tape a few times ...)

Today's clips

Referring to "torturing_jan" I hope it isn't true!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Jeez!! Is it possible that Thin really killed J^2? Could Durga be confused? If J^2 is really dead, then I bet the "better than that" that Durga says that she is going to do in "torturing_jan" is to call Gilly! Of the characters so far, Gilly seems to be the only one to fear more that J^2, especially with her current arsenal. How would she take to the current treatment of her daughter? If J^2 is really dead then I bet on Gilly being the one who took out the "five_guys".

[edit] added spoiler tags. I guess everyone doesn't listen to the clips the instant they go hot like I do!

7:43 PDT axon in Hinsdale IL was not to be found. Me and another hunter were staking out the two that seemed perfectly likely, one at a pair of phones by the Metra building, one just inside the door at the restaurant across the street.
Neither rang, I doubt he tried answering anyway, he said it was his first time. I also neglected to check the phone at the Metra, as I was fairly certain he had answered his phone(I was wrong).
Within half a block, there are a couple other obviously apparant phones, one is about 50 feet away across the railroad tracks to the northwest of the metra building. There is another phone to be seen inside a closed-down Baskin-Robbins along the street. If that one is ringing, we're out of luck. The two we staked need to be silent-checked in the future, and beyond the one across the tracks, any other phones will have to be discovered.
This downtown area is a mess of back-alley shops, its kinda hopeless if theres one tucked away in Random-Nail-Salon.
If I'm really bored, I could check tomorrow one of the two that didnt ring today, but gas is too expensive to drive to Hinsdale to find a ghost axon.

If this axon shows up again next week, would other local hunters like to organize and cover the others, or help sweep for more?

I'd like to give a shout-out/mad props/whatever the hell you kids are calling it these days to beechaser, who located the 14:05 North Ogden axon which I thought was dead. Because of him/her (it? Razz), I managed to enhottenate it this afternoon!

Three cheers for beechaser!

Self Rage and self pity

The 14:51 Axon in Davis is hot. However, the same can not be said for all the beekeepers there.
Three of us arrived in time to answer the phone and when one of us answered, it became apparent that it was a live call. She asked for our names and ranks, and as I was finishing, a siren blared behind us, after explaining that it was an ambulance, she was worried that one of her crew was hurt. I assured her that it wasn' the case.
Here's where I screwed up
I mentioned that I had seen McKaskill and that he seemed alright as well. She became suspicious and claimed that we were imposters. End of call, end of story. Though it seems that it still activated the axon.

Anyone else who gets a live call should probally not mention that they've seen McKaskill, and probally not any of the other fictional crew members, unless they've got a really good explaination lined up.

So I've probally screwed up our Axon's shot at getting a live call, Does anyone know whether an Axon which has had a failed live call, been live again?

I don't think anyone should claim to impersonate any character from future timelines. IIRC, she knows she's in the past, and she is already suspicious that any of us are her real crew (I believe someone mentioned that came up in a live call). Another reason why I think there's no issue with the few live calls that haven't given a rank, let alone a legitimate military position... cuz she knows it doesn't matter much any more... IMO

I dont know about that, today she said she new that Lt. weephun and I Jr. Lt. Mad Cow were her crew. (Probably liked the fact that I pointed out we were coordinating as Team Boise.
