Ok, broken_angel is live, and it is in reference to Jan.

In response to emotional trauma- plausible. The thing that caught me is that it sounds almost like the guy killed has a New Jersy accent that J^2 definitely does not. But that could just be me.

Anyways, at least people have listened to that part so even if the avenue is false, we at least explored it.

Mekiwi- no bad feelings, it was someone else that was being annoying.

Edit: After hearing broken angel, I don't think my theory holds anymore.

Why would they develop a brand NEW SPARTAN program when the S-II program was so effective? If the government has the money to develop an S-III program, then why not just keep funding the S-II program, especially since we KNOW that the second class was already lined up and ready to be trained?

Spartan III was a rival program to Halsey's Spartan II program.

Pretty sure they state that in the books.

Technically not Herzog -- just one of his men.

I still can't believe JJ would go down so easily. What if it's all a setup? What if the JJ that Jan saw killed was a fake? After all, Thin is trying to break Jan. But to do that he has to get her mad at him, so what better way to get the knife to mess Jan up than by killing her "dad" in front of her?

Looks like Broken Angel comes right before 5 Guys.

broken_angel immediately follows bigger_dog. It ends with a short wind-down, and leads into five_guys, which begins with a short wind-up.

The end of this story is still out there. shh_baby, perhaps?

Okay, how about this:
They kidnapped the kids for the next batch but then scrapped the program... but what do you do with the kids? You can't just return them. So instead, they built them up mentally and later (closer to 2552) made AI's out of their brains...

Damnit, it's 00:15 here, and I've got work in the morning.

I'll catch you guys in the am.

And here's hoping it all works out for Jan. And Kamal. And the rest of 'em.

There's no reference to Spartan-III in the books. There is a reference to S-3 (or S-III, can't remember) which is believed to very well possibly also refer to Section 3, and even so, all we know about are files.
That's why it's considered spec. There's no specific evidence other than a reference to "S-3" that a possible Spartan-III program even exists.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Mic and Bradley are the men speaking in five_guys. So I guess we might have to wait til next week to hear the horrible death that (hopefully) awaits Thin. But at least it might be Jan to deliver it, unless she really has broken and is in love with Thin.

Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck. I too am in that "past midnight" timezone.

The work computers don't have audio, so i either a) miss out on it all or b) read transcripts, which sucks...

You may bash me all you want if you can prove me otherwise, but I just finished reading all three books and nowhere does it say Spartan-III. Dr. Halsey does indeed find a secret file in Col. Ackerman's directories with the name of S-3, but for all we know that could stand for ONI, Section III.
