Another question we should ask at some point: who is keeping the stuff from the storage unit? I'd be surprised if Vince let the stuff come within ten miles of his house. And Jeff's place is probably still compromised.

Hah. If Jeff has it, I'm sure he tucked it away in some random closet(Alex's) and will look at it in about 2 months.

Maybe Evan? He obviously respects Jessie, and may feel like he has to protect things she has a rightful claim to-- including the things in the storage unit.

I'd say if not him than Jeff, who seems to be the most organized (uploading, responding to us, running everything behind the scenes). Except... papers in his house don't have a happy history. If he feels that the Rake is still lurking around, he'd be wise to store them with someone else. But when are college kids wise?

The EMH crew seemed confident the Rake has abandoned his claim on Alex, but I'm not convinced it was that easy. He may still be around, waiting for his victim to become isolated from the herd.

Agreed, the Rake up and vanishing from Alex's closet and Alex moving back in, everyone thinking it's fine now sets off my Bad-omen-spidey-senses. Makes me nervous, for sure, I don't think Alex should still be in his room.

I'm not so sure of that. The Rake doesn't strike me as the patient, stalking predator type. I find it more likely that it's elsewhere at the moment, causing havoc on some other unsuspecting schlub.

However, I would definitely expect it to be back for prey that eluded it earlier, so Alex is far from safe- even with that hole-to-elsewhere apparently closed up (at least for now).

It almost makes me wonder if the closing of the crawlspace indicates that it recognized it was being hunted and moved onto Rose as the next viable prey.

What makes prey viable to the Rake? Contact with Slendy or HABIT? Did we ever discuss whether it was killing on someone else's orders or was just a side effect of having Slendy-contact for too long? If we're talking about Slenderman as a force of nature, maybe the Rake is a side effect of exposure to His wrath-- or just a camp follower of sorts, following the big guy around in hope of easy prey.

I don't know if this was brought up, but the last video got me thinking.

I know everyone remembers the entry "Ryan & the SEVENTRIALSOFHABIT"

I remember reading that people though he was talking to the operator, but you couldn't see any one but Even on cam and the operator shows up behind Jeff at the end. This is just my theory, but what Even was saying sounds like what a crazy upset person would say to his therapist. I feel as if Even was talking to the Doc as Habit.

I know its a little late, but its been bugging me so...

Evan could have been talking to the Doc as HABIT. I don't know who that "Even" guy is though. Razz

The hidden conversation on R&STOH reminds me more of a negotiation than anything. I can see what you mean on the leaked 'Slenderman' video, though-- he seems more troubled there, more vulnerable. R&STOH Evan is throwing his weight around, not trying to get help. Least, that's how it seemed to me.

Well, we've been tossing this around for awhile but when it comes to "Slender Man" I am inclined to think that both that and WTTA are perhaps quasi-continuity/possible reality at best, with aspects of the real story and plotline but not exactly totally wedded. The kitchen scene in SM is very similar to the one in "Ryan...", only less layered - it's apparently Evan talking to SM about his psychotic urges. "Ryan..." seems to involve HABIT and SM negotiating and is a different story altogether. I am not convinced both videos happened to our same HYBRIDs, or in the same continuity. I default to "Ryan...", of course, being real, while SM/WTTA may simply give us glimpses of stuff going on, or aspects of stuff, or general themes/concepts. And now I'm just gibbering nonsense, as usual.

Alright I am back!
Weighing in briefly (and really to no useful point) on the "Slender man" and "Welcome to the ARK" videos. I have always felt, or hoped (it's hard to tell which) that these are somehow canon. Particularly "WttA", since I hold that video's effectiveness at near-religious heights.
It's difficult to really say as much as I think on the subject, this is a "we'll see" type thing. There's nothing so far as plotline to make them irrelevant (in fact the more we find out the more the video makes sense), and perhaps not the very same videos, I mean, the guys are visibly much older now... then again, time doesn't adhere as it used to...
Just a post to get me back in the discussions again. Sorry about the uselessness. :3

Incidentally, I haven't heard back but it seems the last email I sent re: 77of76 was probably repetitious. Cougar Draven informs me that our question about it was asked and answered a while ago and that no, Jeff and co. apparently do not recall filming that material at all. So, my bad for repeating it. They also apparently confirmed that the mystery USB drive was slowly making the video files available to them.

Nah, owning Ouroborus would involve my not asking a repetitious question, and actually getting somewhere useful with all my pointless trees and mad ideas. Wink
