I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet: "Fear of the Dark" by Iron Maiden. I was listening to the song to see if the lyrics could be altered to fit SM mythos, when I realized they pretty much already do.

Someone said Mountain Goats on the first page, and I agree. Every time I listen to them I feel like their songs parallel some fandom I'm into at the time.

For me it's the song 'Magpie'. Reminds me a lot of Slendy.

...Also 'Tim, I Wish You Were Born A Girl' by Of Montreal.

Take all the songs in this topic that are ambient music and play them simultaneously with headphones on. Volume up or down doesn't matter.

I love music memes of all kinds!

Actually, there's probably no good explanation behind any of these songs:

1. VNV Nation - Savior
2. Bauhaus - Paranoia, Paranoia
3. The Clash - London Calling
4. The Cure - Prayers For Rain
5. David Bowie - Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps)
6. Joy Division - Day of the Lords
7. VNV Nation - Firstlight (I don't think that this is technically a song, really. But it's a bunch of ambient electronic noise, which is what I imagine Slendy's voice to sound like)
8. Gang of Four - Paralyzed
9. The Casualties - Static Feedback and Noise
10. Siouxsie and the Banshees - Clockface

^Best one lol

I personally think that Voodoo by Godsmack is a good one...
"Never did I wanna be here again, and I don't remember why I came" - This part specifically makes me think of Jay.

I don't know if anyone's mentioned this yet, but The Greater Good - Nine Inch Nails makes me think of Marble Hornets every time I listen to it.

"Breathe us in, slowly. Slowly"
"Persuasion, coercion, submission, assimilation."
"Everything you do, everywhere you go, anything we want, anything."

Kind of like totheark's personal theme.

I hate to be "that guy" that brings up metalcore, but Anatomy by The Devil Wears Prada. Or, heck, anything off the Zombie EP. It all could work. Maybe even Chelsea Smile ("I've got a secret, from the tip of my tongue to the back of my lungs and, I'm gonna keep it, I know something you don't know" sounds like Masky, eh?").

Although, Marble Hornets is less thrash, more subtle creepiness. And for that, I would have a surprise choice- Spidersong by Say Anything. Why does this remind me of MH? No earthly idea. But it just DOES.
