 		So, when Box 5 was just released and a group of us were discussing it in Angora, I sent a message to Alex through Youtube:

Anyways, recently one of us found the box at the location HABIT tweeted to you guys. It has a great deal of information that we're trying to sort through. One of the things it contained is another Corenthal letter, this one seeming to mainly concern the child that shares Jeff's name. We, meaning those of us in the Angora chat room, have been discussing it and were wondering if you could provide us with some information, if it isn't too much trouble.
First of all, do you know a person named 'Ellie'? She was mentioned in the Corenthal letter as an older sister of the Jeff from Fairmount. It could be anyone, even just a mention of that name.
Secondly, do you remember when Jeff ran off, and uploaded the video of him talking about the fire at his school? Could you confirm if that actually happened, and if so, perhaps elaborate with your memories of it?

It would be incredibly helpful if you could answer our questions. Thank you so, so much in advance, whether you respond or not.

I don't think it signifies too much, but it's not impossible that this could mean the school fire memory is not OUR Jeff's. Not a tree, but nothing to go on. This is a delightfully ambiguous reply. sarcasm maybe

It could also suggest that Alex simply isn't paying that much attention to his big brother's videos. He does seem pretty cavalier about the goings-on.

Not for lack of trying. I think a number of us have attempted to engage him re: the meaning of the trials and the cycle, but so far as I know, he ain't talkin'.

Alex's confusion is interesting, glad someone dropped him a line. I always feel so bad for Alex, surprising his memories :( You think if they had a sister Ellie, he'd at least know who she was/ pretend she was still alive right?

And I believe Alex said "Don't want the parents to hear" once, which implies they were still together. The letter made it sound like FM!Jeff's Mom was surprised to see his Dad. Just thought I'd bring it up here.

As much as it pains for me to say this, I don't think that their respective family members have any point in each cycle (if that's what it is) except to serve as cannon fodder [which I hope is not true, because I really like Alex]. I think that they have to have pain in their life; Slenderman needs them in a certain state of mind. Sad At least that's my little theory, as coherently as I can put it right now between work and a headache.

There was a small tree someone was throwing around in the Paradise Valley Thread that maybe FM!Jeff's Dad was supposed to dead or something and that's why she was surprised to see him. IDK. Although it would be interesting to see a zombie wielding a gun.

It was my theory. I don't think he was a zombie, really, just that he had been assumed dead and been given a funeral. Then SURPRISE! he reappears just to kill his family before actually dying.

Ah. That makes more sense. I just had this image and with all the insanity of last week it turned a silly zombie thing, lol.

 		Well, if the family members do have a point, Alex could just be ignoring the fact that he had a sister.
It's true he pretends their parents are still alive, but it's a lot more believable to not see parents in your videos than a nosy younger sister.

Or, Ellie was made male in this cycle and is secretly Alex.

With the text about:

I think this entire part already came to pass, in the past it referred to Ellie. However, I don't think it requires an Ellie to exist for it to work in this cycle. In the transcript it Jeff referred to Ellie as perfect, the person he loved most blah blah blah. This time? It was Jessa. Fighting to lose all he loves refers to his pushing away the team temporarily to go look for clues for her (maybe), not sure what blood would be though (his parents, perhaps).

Alternatively, it means he loses his heart (the person he loves the most), his blood (his family), and all he loves (his friends? something else?) and Mining Town Jeff just happened to lose heart and blood at the same time (Ellie counted as both, but his mother and father certainly fit the bill if she didn't count).

In fact, many of this seem to have happened:

"THE VOYEUR SHALL WATCH FROM AN EMOTIONAL DISTANCE, INSISTING UPON MAINTAINING THEIR STRENGTH."

Vinnie was the most "rational" of everyone in the beginning, he was the one who held out the longest on it not being supernatural. In addition, he filmed the Rose video, despite how insensitive Evan thought it was, just because he thought it would help.

"THE FIREBRAND SHALL DISREGARD OBVIOUS DANGER AND ASSUME THE ROLE OF FORCE"

Easy, Evan trying to bull rush Slendy.

"THE GUARDIAN SHALL LOSE HIS HEARTAND THEN HIS BLOOD AND FIGHT TO LOSE ALL HE LOVES"

Addressed above, likely refers to Jessa. Other parts of this phrase may or may not have happened yet.

"THE VOYEUR SHALL REMAIN IDLE TO ALL WHO SEE, HOWEVER BUSY HE MAY BE BENEATH"

Of the three, Vinnie seems to be the one who has done the least right now, he mostly just sits back and well... suggests courses of action. Evan and Jeff seem to do most of the heavy lifting (albeit in different respects). HOWEVER, I don't agree with the interpretation that it means Vinnie is acting alone or against them, instead I think it refers to a more emotional/psychological turmoil. Trying to keep his strength and remain logical is probably taking a heavy toll on him inside.

The rest clearly haven't happened (except perhaps in hidden videos):

"THE FIREBRAND SHALL LEAD AN OFFENSE AS HE MIGHT, ONLY TO SUCCUMB TO THE WAR WITHIN"

Evan eventually stops being useful because he's too preoccupied fighting with himself. Might have occurred in the "attempting to murder Jeff" footage.

"THE FIREBRAND SHALL DEFECT AND SELF-IMMOLATE, NO LONGER DEFINING THE TWO WITHIN"

Tricky, at first it seems like it means he's giving into HABIT, thereby defecting and sending himself on a downward spiral. But the part after the comma gets confusing. It seems more like he leaves the group and destroys himself intentionally in a hare-brained (heh) attempt to stop the internal war, and ultimately succumbs to a state that's neither HABIT nor Evan (a personality no longer defining Evan or HABIT).

"THE GUARDIAN SHALL DEFY A GOD ONLY TO BE DEALT A FATAL BLOW"

Probably refers to Jeff standing up to either Evan, Slendy, or someone else (i.e. Shade or another person we haven't heard of). Though defy makes this questionable, defy implies that he was affiliated with it in the first place, and then deliberately disregarded orders, so either the group for some reason aligns themselves with a third part and Jeff ends up defecting and getting killed, or it involves stuff we can't even fathom yet.

"THE VOYEUR SHALL SWALLOW JUSTICE'S SWORD"

Likely means Vinnie does something bad, and then is judged. Either that or Vinnie brings justice on Jeff for defying a god.

Alternatively, The Voyeur is Steph, since she is the most distant of the group, and certainly the most idle. "Voyeur" also fits her nicely in how she just sat back and watched when she got Jessa's message. However, the "HE" in the play likely refutes this.

Now for something completely different:

I know this sounds utterly crazy (and OOG - probably a bad idea unless they're gods at writing), but I really think that the next time the guys see Slendy they should try calmly approaching and speaking with him. As... homicidal as the guy is, he didn't seem to bear any ill will towards the Mining Town Four, and in fact most of the stuff mentioned seems to point towards him being particularly fond of them (helping them "play," gutting people he deemed a threat to them). The only time he has been proven to hurt any of the current gang was in self defense*, and may just be a side effect of getting within touching distance of him (not even his fault) which isn't a stretch considering being within an acre of him causes a mild cough. In fact, when they tried to ram him with a car (which, let's be honest, probably would have hurt them pretty bad even if it DID connect) his response was... fix their car, teleport them to relative safety, and possibly patch up Evan's injuries. And if you assume the mixed-case unsigned tweets are his, well, for an Eldritch Abomination he seems pretty cordial. Of course, given the distortion we wouldn't be able to actually SEE any of this filmed, and they probably would just lose their memory of the event... but it seems like a decent avenue of attack.

Like I said though, OOG they'd have to be amazing to do this without totally jumping the shark.


* Well, okay, murdering Steph's family doesn't really fit with this, but it still shows that at the very least he has an interest in her being alive if he has interest in ordering her around, since she's probably an "investment" and her parent's location was keeping him from utilizing it.

 		First, Jsor, awesome post. I will say I think Jeff "defying a god" is simply challenging SM, whom none can stand against. As for the rest, we don't know. I do think Jeff still has a chance to not finish out the cycle this time, if Alex can be saved.

Also, now I can't get the idea of an "integrated" Evan/HABIT a la Eliza Dushku on Dollhouse out of my head.
