not that i believe either copied each other, since neither invented the concept of "memory loss".

I think it's an unfortunate coincidence that they both had similar ideas so close to each other, but it couldn't be helped.

In all honesty, I'm not (that) upset. For one, they really aren't doing the exact same thing (although it does feel very familiar if you've been following TT closely).

Secondly, MH was first, and they have no reason to rip off TT. They've had a long time to hone their craft and process, and they tend to plan things out months in advance (even if they are only made days or weeks before they're shown to us). It's kind of sucky that TT just did something very similar (disappear for a week, wake up somewhere different, something crazy has been posted) but I think we can chalk this up to 'really strong coincidence'.

Troy and Joseph aren't hack artists. They have their influences and (from their OOG interviews) don't seem to be afraid to admit it, but they are above ripping off the people whom they influenced.

Even though TT was pretty forward about its MH influences at first, Noah/Nimbus has come into his own, so I don't think we can say either 'copied' (as you point out). If anything, they 'copied' the idea from countless films and television shows and novels that have used the idea of memory loss as a plot device (The Bourne trilogy, Memento, etc.).

I wouldn't get yourself upset over it. Enjoy the story, don't dwell on its similarities to others. In a genre like this where things evolve 'live' it's bound to happen time to time.

Well, this is very interesting. I have a feeling we'll get another tweet soon with some sort of discovery ("There's a mask in the back seat of my car" etc)
Very pleased, wasn't expecting the red tower, and very glad to have an update.

although you could argue they're going to do a crossover. just kidding.

anyways, i'll shut up about it now. i'm excited to find out what happened to Jay and who kidnapped him.

I'm pretty sure. That's at least what I understand after lurking over in the Slenderman Mythos section for a while. A few people (long-time members, not Boots of any sort) mentioned it there, so I figured after I read it for the fourth or fifth time it's most likely true.

Totally fine - sorry I(we?) misinterpreted that. I'm looking forward to it too! I honestly hope he wasn't 'kidnapped' but was just under some sort of TTA/Operator influence. Very Happy Much more exciting!

He may not be able to tell us that until he finds somewhere he can use his laptop... if he even has any of his stuff. What if all the tapes, his cameras and his laptop are missing?
