I don't recall a different state. The beginning of the season he says he had no idea where he was, thats about it. It took him a while to get back to the tower, so its possible.
If we don't hear from anyone by tomorrow night, I have a feeling something bad happened ;p

 		Jay did mention at the beginning of the series that Alex transferred to an out-of-state college after the events of the Marble Hornets shoot. It's not unlikely that he still lives out of state.

 		IIRC, the location from the hotel era was another town in Alabama. So, if IG locations are the same as OOG, he's still in the same state.

If you were being chased by an eldreidtch abomination, a psychopath, being monitored by an entity that may or may not be your best friend, and just woke up in your car near a tower that has caused you no end of trouble, would you bother keeping "reasonable hours"?
