I like that Slendy might have been stuck in those woods, and then "freed" when he was caught on tape. If we assume he is some sort of being who can manipulate the EM scale, the electricity in people's brains.. Maybe the the tapes were able to catch some of his presence and allow him to leave those woods. Of course, it makes sense why the Operator would stalk Alex first.. Maybe he's bound to the tapes, or the people who record the tapes..

I like the idea that once you put those tapes on the internet, SM could go anywhere..

Anyway, I like this idea. Just thinking aloud.

Also, no way is Slendy one of the victims. I always thought he was extra-dimensional.. Maybe these wood contain a weak spot between dimensions, one that makes the trees grow. Maybe hate and violence or the fire or the murder causes Slendy to cross over, makes it easier, creates a weak spot.. Maybe the woods is so full of life that it was easy for the townsfolks/us to create Slenderman, tulpa style. Maybe when he came over he mimicked the stretched out bodies.. Maybe he was trapped in those woods and the people who lived there were encouraged to sacrifice to him, and kill them in a way that would mimic SM himself. Man, we JUST DON'T KNOW, but assuming the story isn't clumsy exposition (and MH is of a higher calibre), this gives us lots of ideas, some of which might not be related at all! We could have been red herringed all over the place. (Though likely there are some hints..) Mwhuahahaha.

Also, the trees are burned near where Jay is standing, @8bitFilk. That is why they look dark. At least, that's what I assumed.

 		Any chance this entry could be chronologically be for marble hornets? Jay did say alex took him location scouting. Maybe alex's weirdness is his first signs of some slendy sickness? Maybe this is the first time slendy is encountered? Anything like that?

Maybe jay doesn't remeber this day. Its happened before.

 		The trees are darker because the contrast goes up due to distortion.

This footage can't come from before season 1, because Jay and Alex's relations are nowhere near as friendly as they were in Entry #5, for example. Also, Alex pretty much described the Operator in his talk - he's trying to make sense of this clusterfuck as well, and the folklore tale was the sanest possibility he had.

 		On the whole where does this fit into the timeline thing, I just rewatched the video and at one point Alex said "when I first moved here", which seems like evidence towards this being filmed when they were shooting MH, and this being near where Alex lived at the time.

I would think Jay would be a lot more I dunno..hesitant about Alex if this was more recent. I mean he was somewhat hesitant but not like THAT much.

Well - it implies to me that this is the place he ran to when things started getting freaky during the filming of MH.

Alex is explaining the place as if it is totally alien to Jay, suggesting that it is a place Alex has experience of, and Jay doesn't (Alex and Jay didn't live too far from each other when they were filming MH). I think this entry comes between the end of Season 1 and the start of Season 2.

 		Those trees creeped me out. The branches looked really odd. What he said about burning the trees remind me of that painting in an earlier entry.

I think it would be 100xs more creepy if Slenderman had no goal at all. He just stalked. And stalked. For no reason at all.

 		My theory is that the thing Alex wanted to show Jay was Tim. Tim had escaped the house in #35 and was hiding, maybe sleeping, in the forest. Alex found him and decided to show Jay. After this entry is 29, where Jay would in theory run away from Alex.

It makes the creepy speech even more sinister, doesn't it?

 		Maybe we are viewing all of this wrong, what if Alex took Jay there not to explain Slenderman but to explain why slenderman is after them? It cuts off right when he is going to say it; its still anyones bet what he will say.

 		I thought the entry was pretty neat.

Do note that this little "backstory" may only show where Slender's appearance came from. Mayhap he imitated one of the criminals, their face burnt to a cinder, crucified to the monstrous tree?

Most of it is Alex and I walking along a trail. We say almost nothing to each other.

[Camera is now upside down]
This is the last few minutes.
Jay: It's getting dark, Alex. And I have no idea where we are.
Alex: We're almost there.
Jay: Do you want me to take the camera?
Alex: Yeah.
[Camera is turned rightside up]
Jay: So where is "there"?
Alex: How much do you know about this area?
Jay: Nothing..
Alex: When I first moved here, I remember hearing a story that back in the 1800's they thought this place was blessed because everything would grow so fast. They would take their worst criminals - murderers and child molesters - and they would put them on trial before god out here.
Alex: They would tie them up to the trees, and the idea was that they would get stretched out - kind of like a rack. They never fed or gave them water, though, so they would just die of dehydration
Jay: Why are you telling me this?
Alex: They never cut down the bodies. They would just burn the whole tree with them still on it.
Alex: They stopped doing it though after the kid went missing. And he finally turned up in the area where they would do the trials. He had been dismembered and strung up.
Jay: So is this why we're out here? To look at trees and tell spooky ghost stories?
Alex: C'mere.
Jay: What?
Alex: Just c'mere.
Jay: Wait, hold on a second. Uh, there's only about a minute left on this tape. Gonna change it real quick.

Since this tape was unlabeled, I don't know where it fits in with the seven months that I don't remember.
The way that Alex is acting in it makes me very uneasy. Why was he telling me all of that?
And what happened to him?
I feel like I'm getting closer, but not fast enough.

As for "enttry #37: I did not post it. I do not know where this footage came from.
Someone must've hijacked my account. Probably whoever uploaded "Entry ######"
I've changed my password again, but I'm not going to delete the video.
