Anybody else think that the visual distortion in this entry wasn't caused by Slendy, but by the forest itself?

Ala creepy hole in the forest in another Entry. I did wonder this myself, as its not the first time we've seen distortion without 'anyone' to cause it.

EDIT:

WINRAR

But yeah. I actually REALLY REALLY like this idea. Alex gets very quiet and very serious when he's talking about the kid being strung up and dismembered. This could be a VERY good reason as to why.

Didn't catch up on the reads of this thread yet, but I wanna post this before I'm beaten to it.

I found the Wichita Article and want to post it here.
(Edit: Take note to how it says The Operator at one point. Different meaning, but still highly coincidental.)

Somehow, "taken in by the kind-hearted operator" is a hell of a terrifying phrase to me. I think that the MH crew is at least referencing this article, even if it doesn't actually tie into our storyline.

I think the idea of Slenderman being the "god" the people were "sacrificing" the people to makes some sense.

If the assumption is made that Alex has knowledge of Slenderman at the time of the filming, the way he says "And they would put them on trial before god out here" has almost a note of contempt or sarcasm to it, almost like you could imagine him doing air quotes around "god". It seems like something he would do given the state of mind he's been in, though I may be reading into it too much...

I kind of like the idea that this forest is a sort of portal where the operator can go between the separate dimensions. It could be that certain loophole between the worlds. Maybe it's the ark as well.

Also, maybe Alex needs to sacrifice someone in this forest so that the operator will stop stalking him? It would seem plausible with the whole "lead me to the ark" deal. Jay/Tim/whoever will lead TTA to the ark which may or may not be in the forest, which is the crossing point that will send the operator back to the dimension he belongs. This would seem like the only way to defeat a tall paranormal being with tentacles....just send him away!

And as for the chronology, I started out on the pre-mh idea. Now I'm certain this is during the 7 lost months. It just makes a lot more sense and has more evidence to back it up.

I still think we're about to see something to do with entry 29 as well, possibly by TTA.

Your idea there could be pretty intense. Especially is Jay, Alex, and TTA/Tim are all stalked, and each have to sacrifice someone to Slendy. Then things really heat up. Maybe TTA/Time is sacrificing Jessica right now. 0.o

I highly doubt that, but since we're trying every other theory..... Razz

I can't believe nobody got this. I only looked through the first 5 pages but its pretty damned obvious. Stretched legs and arms and torso through tree torture. The operator is a escaped torture victim! Or at least he is related to the stretching in a way like that.

This has already been discussed, a couple pages back. Usually, not TOO much happens in just the first five pages. It's suggested that you read as much as possible. Wink

I was just about to edit my post when I saw someone mentioned that. Just consider my post a "Restated for truth" post. Thats some pretty good late exposition.

As intriguing as the background mythos is, I still find myself stuck on "where did this footage come from?" Maybe it's nitpicking but I'm not sure we can simply assume that Jay got back to wherever he was (that mystery location being a while other set of unknowns) and put this entry together from the tapes in the safe. Yes he says it's from an unlabeled (or unalbeled...) tape and therefore we're led to jump to that conclusion, but Jay has proven himself to be one hell of an unreliable narrator in the past, and I think he's getting worse.

It's a little bit of a leap, I'll admit, but after Jay's "tweet meltdown," enttry 37, and the increasing amounts of completely missing time/unexplained travel, I can't help wondering if we're putting way too much stock in Jay's mental stability. I think maybe that series of tweets/turning up at the tower was something much worse happening then we completely understand just yet, and the typo in the Entry 38 description is there to say that whatever went very wrong with Jay is still going on. Maybe the Jay we're dealing with now is someone much different than the one we started out with--broken and can't be fixed a la Fragments, maybe.

I dunno. This is obviously a big speculative ramble but given how few legit answers we have right now, I guess rambles aren't so bad...

Ok, so I haven't read this entire thread yet, but has anyone thought that maybe Alex telling that story is somewhat of a red herring, yet necessary? Perhaps he was telling the story to cause a reaction, rather than "here's 1 minute about where slendy comes from"

If slendy is brought on by emotions/feelings of anxiety and fear (possible in entry 26, and if this theory holds water maybe 23, and possibly many more examples), could he have just been trying to freak jay out as much as possible to cause something to happen (possibly involving slendy or the ark).

Idk, I for one loved the back story and the creepy tone of this entry, but I'm a little cautious about jumping to the conclusion that slendy is the big bad from FFV (A tree that absorbed all the evil from criminals throughout history until it eventually became evil and sentient).

Ok, feel free to rip this idea a new one. starting now.

Jay is definitely under the presence of the Operator in some way by now. There's no way he could misspell all those words for no reason.

The entries are all we really have to rely on now, and even they are confusing as seen by the heaping mass of speculation on the last couple entries.

I like the notion that he's intentionally antagonizing Jay or trying to provoke a reaction for reasons that aren't clear to us. I would like to believe he also led him on a nice ramble just waiting till they ran out of tape, so whatever came next wouldn't be recorded, but that's probably a stretch.

Has anyone thought about a possible connection to the Version video?

These may have nothing to do with each other, but the phrase must mean something.
