I am back to hating having an acre of forest as a backyard. At least only hurricanes have damaged the trees, no lightning strikes to burn any...

I rather liked Jay's retort of going to the forest just to tell ghost stories. It seems to me like he's cautious of what Alex is trying to tell him, or at the very least annoyed that he couldn't be told this somewhere besides the middle of a creepy forest.

I'm a bit surprised there wasn't more visual or audio distortion. Previous entries have had important bits of information (especially, recently, Entry 36) distorted. Could the Operator want this information known? Edit: Or, as others have pointed out, could the Operator just not care because this is a red herring/Alex just trying to antagonize Jay?

(Obligatory "first post" disclaimer?)

Thats depressing.

Could Alex be stuck in a cycle like the EMH crew? Like, Alex was the kid who got killed in the forest, and every life he lives he keeps coming back there and getting restalked by Mr. Operator?

This actually makes sense, but doesn't explain the Operator's role with all the other cast members, jessica, the ark, etc. But this is especially intriguing, especially with all those dates in enttry 37.

I live close to Atco, NJ. There is an entirely burnt-out forest within thirty minutes' drive of my house... oh gosh. Shocked

I feel for you.
And I live around a heavily wooded area where police found, not so long ago, a stash of bomb making equipment. Related?

the description now says "unlabeled". guess that was just an RL typo instead of a slender-induced one. Laughing

That's a very lulzy coincidence. And it took them this long to fix it, while it took them an hour to fix enttry 37? haha

Dude, video editing is easy. Proofreading one word's worth of text? Maddeningly hard.

When seeing the entry mention fires, I immediately thought of the painting, which has already been mentioned once or twice in this thread. But it made me think of... (OOG)
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
...one of the questions in the Q&A "Was it frustrating to see players focusing on wrong aspects of the videos at times (zipcode, fire in the picture, etc)? ", in which Troy answered, "And who said the painting wasn't significant? ".

Probably means nothing, but it made me chuckle.

Has anyone considered that maybe the townsfolk burned the trees because they couldn't take the bodies down, as opposed to wouldn't? I'm thinking Vashon Island style, the trees basically ate the bodies (#11--check out provided links/google for more info). That would be inline with the trees growing incredibly fast.

These may have nothing to do with each other, but the phrase must mean something.

It's an anagram of 'deeper secrets'

We're not 4chan here, being into anime isn't something to be pardoned. It's not to be praised either, but that doesn't mean it's 'bad' in the unforumers' collective consciousness.

In other news, I kind of like the 'there's some idea, but it's still kinda ambiguous' nature of what this Entry gave us (Slendy is an executed criminal. No, wait, maybe he's the 'god' that the locals sacrificed to? Or maybe some kind of spirit that 'absorbed' the malice of the executed?) as well as the fact that one of the theories (the God theorem, let's call it) allows my video-game-obsessed mind to create some small connection between MH and Silent Hill.

Bringing up a theory mentioned a few pages back:

If the Operator was in fact an escaped tree-strung victim, a theory that I like very, verrrry much, that means SOMEONE must have been providing him with water/food. The question is who would feed a criminal? Alex's relatives for some reason? Perhaps TTA is really 100+ years old somehow? Is the Operator just super-human and doesn't need the nourishment we do?

"Brian has excellent taste in art."
"Brian is somewhere; I don't know where…"

Poor Brian.
