That's what I'm thinking. I wonder if the audio is saying anything...

Based on the new video, it would seem KindvonDerRitter is a big fan of TribeTwelve.

"I don't think asbestos is the worst of your problems here." Heh, nice. Laughing

Interesting video. Still liking the believability of it, even though I am feeling a bit 'Why the hell does Slendy love abandoned swim clubs so damn much?' Razz Trying to download the book now. Freaking MegaUpload making me wait. Rolling Eyes

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Even though I'm not sure where they're located out of, it'd have been cool to have that as a dead drop or something.

So I downloaded the file, quite a lot of pictures to go through. I wouldn't want to flood the topic with pics, so I'll just say to download the file. It isn't that big. I'll at least post the text file explaining what's in the .zip.

We're still not one hundred percent sure what to make of this book.

Over half of it is filled with blank pages, and what is written is very hard to understand.
It's barely even legible.
There is a section filled with drawings, titled "The Cycles". The images are very morbid and
a bit disturbing.
The rest seems to be a mixture of scientific and religious writing. It looks to me like it was written
by the leader of a cult. Judging by what is written, this cult seems dangerous. I'm sure Kind von der
Ritter lead us to the book for a reason, although I don't know what it is.
Also with the book was a written letter dated 1957 from the "Department of Intelligence".
It talks about some sort of scientific experiment that was conducted by the military.
I'm not sure of its relevance.

Included in this folder are photos of the book's pages. We are very lost as to how to decipher this
and understand its relevancy, but I'm sure this is in fact the key that will help us understand
what is really going on. Despite not fully grasping the context of this book, we are going to do our
best to try to understand it and know what it is trying to tell us.

If anyone out there is reading this, thank you for taking the time to try to help us out.
Any and all information you could give us regarding this book would be appreciated.

We are determined to find out who is behind Greg's murder and to make sure it never happens again.

- Chris

Looks like there are some pages missing : the jpg naming is contiguous except for 41,42 and 53,54.

...Good God.

I just read all those pages and... Jesus H. Christ. My mind can barely wrap around what I just read.

So a very basic, and probably wrong summary?

The first 1/4 of the book talks about how to open a "Rift" from this world (titled the 3rd World in the book), to the 4th world. It goes into pretty a pretty detailed description of how it works, and how it can fail. You would probably see something like this in a lab report.

The rest of the book though is very much a religious cult's manifesto. KinderVonDeRitter is a member of this cult. Slendy somehow fits into this, whether he is their "God" or simply one of their high ranking members is a little hard to tell. The pictures in the middle of the book seem to allude to Slendy killing many people.

The person who brought out the knife on Chris and Alex is undoubtly a part of this cult, as one of the "laws" in the manifesto requires members to wear a mask and dress in dark clothes.

I'm gonna stop rambling and let someone else who is smarter than me post. I'm gonna sleep on all of this and hopefully make some sense out of this thing.

Oh wow, I'm a little lucky to have just been researching a topic that has some relation to this stuff (don't ask, it's complicated and boring).

The symbol that appears in

II movement 3
II movement 1 and 3
The fourth Dawn

That looks like a cross with an arrow at the bottom and a hook at the top is called the "cross of confusion". According to the book I was looking at (which is horseshit mostly) is an "old Roman symbol that questions the validity of God," Now, I don't know if that matters (or if it's even true. this guy claims that the peace sign is the cross of nero) but he also mentions it's used in Blue Oyster Cult album covers (which IS true).

That symbol also appears transposed with the axe symbol at the beginning. Again, referencing the book the upright axe was a roman symbol for justice, while when it is inverted it is anti-justice. The book I'm using is a religious book but it needs to be taken with a heaping spoonful of salt.

Beyond the drawings someone else needs to read that writing because I certainly can't make heads or tails of it. Why do old people write in cursive?

Just watched all the videos for the first time. Very interesting.

I may start following it now, but we'll see how busy I am.

I'm working on typing up a transcript of the book for those of us that have a hard time reading cursive. I'm about halfway through the book now. I'll admit there are some words I'm iffy on, but you guys can give me your opinion once I post the completed transcript. I am out of class by 2 tomorrow (technically today XD), so hopefully it'll be done by 3 or 4. (:

That would be great! Indeed, there were a number of words that were a little tough to read, though I'll chalk that up to my terrible cursive skills.

Now that I've gotten up, one thing that stuck me in the shower was, if indeed KinderVonDerRitter was the one who lead them to the book, and if he is a part of this Order, then hasn't he broken the "Law of Secrecy"? This Order values their secrets a lot and if he lead the guys to the book, which basically spells out their beliefs (and maybe even a secret? That Rift stuff seems like something only the Order members would know.), then he will have to "pay the Ultimate Price."

On the matter of what exactly happened to Greg on that night, here's my theory. And this probably is completely wrong, but to me, it makes the most sense. At the beginning of the book, there is a detailed report on this "Rift" between the 3rd world and the 4th world. Two of the basic requirements to keep the portal stable is Heat Energy (hE), and (correct me if I'm wrong here) Vim Energy (vE). The book claims that Vim is the primordial energy that all life contains. It is residual energy left over from the creation of the 3rd world.

I think that the Order believes that the only way to gather this energy is through vital organs in the body, hence why Greg was gutted and missing organs. Why specifically him, I don't know. Why not animals, I don't know either. Perhaps they believe that humans have a greater amount of Vim.

So yeah, that's my thoughts on that small part. The book covers A LOT, and there is a lot that can be taken from it. Alas, I have class shortly so I'll have to leave it here. Hopefully some more people can shed some light on this thing.

I definitely agree that the "Law of Secrecy" would be broken. The only argument or downside to that law that I could see: how would the Order recruit new members without revealing some of the secrets. Maybe KVR is trying to "show them the light" and get them to join the Order as well? Just some speculation.

And I'm so glad that you had that epiphany! I think it makes perfect sense which implies some scary possibilities. Since they took Greg's vE, the Order is obviously trying to open the Rift. Now what scares me is why they would want to, and how does our tall friend fit into this?

EDIT: Completed the transcript. I believe there's only three words that I couldn't read and, they are on pages 2, 32, and 34. I've marked them with a question mark either in their place or next to them. Other than that all spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and spacing is exactly like the book.

My interpretations of it all:

1) the leader of the cult, the Overseer, is a human who turned into Slender Man from exposure to energies from the Fourth World.

2) The objective of the cult is to turn all humans into Slender Men.

3) They hope to accomplish this by performing human sacrifices, in order to use the life energy (Vim) released. This is the part of the religion that the rest of humanity would disapprove of, but which they think is ultimately for the good of humankind.

4) The "evil men from the Homeland of the Discoverer" is a U.S. government agency containing the "Department of Intelligence" referenced in the typed and burnt document.

4b) The governmental interviewer who wouldn't give any ID is a member of that agency.

While the one who led them to the notebook could be a rogue member of the Order, my guess is that he's a rogue member of the government agency which is opposed to the Order. First there was the typed document from that agency, which would be most easily accessible to a member of the agency (though a member of the Order might have been able to steal it). Second is the first section of the notebook, which describes everything in a scientific manner, while the rest is written in a reverent manner with lots of religious terminology. So my hypothetical rogue government agent hand-copied some of the scientific research done by the government agency, then hand-copied some documents the agency had stolen from the Order.

Now why would a government agent go rogue? Maybe the main characters are now targets for the Order, the rogue agent figures the best way to beat the Order is to feed info to the current targets, but High Command disagreed, so s/he did it anyways. Or maybe exposure to the Rift drove the agent crazy.
