How do you explain videos that seem certainly shot by Masky, who we now know is Tim? The footage of Jay coughing in the house comes to mind, as well the TTA reply with all the close up shots of MaskyTim (the name eludes me as usual).

We have no idea if it was Tim who filmed Jay's coughing fit. We didn't see anyone else in the house that night, so there's nothing definite either way.

And I believe you're thinking of Entry ###### which we have no way of saying was actually posted by TTA, as it was posted on Jay's channel.
And I'm skeptical to assume, especially since we found out that Alex himself sent Jay that package in 26, when most of us assumed it was TTA who sent it to him.

The Mask being in the videos isn't proof enough since it's really easy to recreate that mask.

Remember what Alex said?..."Jay, you're really not that hard to find..."

Doesn't that seem just a tad odd to you? Combined with Alex's sketchy behavior, its not hard to see why this theory is so popular. Because clearly Alex is in far more control/awareness o Jay than Jay has of him.

I have no idea if this has been mentioned before, but I think the reason why the forest is growing so miraculously is because the "Ark" is buried there. The Ark can be taken literally as the Ark of the Covenant, and it might have been buried in North America. There's speculation that ancient civilizations could of hidden stuff here for millenia. We've found evidence that this continent was visited before the Exploration Era of Columbus (excluding natives).

This might be a longshot, but it at least makes some sense.

To add to this, they might of wanted a human (Alex or Jay) to find the Ark because Slendy and his crew can't go near the object for some reason. The object is thought as holy, so maybe it repulses them.

A final thought, is this the forest with the Red Tower and where Alex lived near? It would make sense for that forest to be the Slender Forest.

A few people have mentioned the lack of audio distortion in this entry, but I noticed a subtle piece that no one seems to have pointed out- at 1:56, when Alex says "and he finally turned up in the area" (referring to the kid who went missing). It sounds like there are two layers of Alex speaking; the normal layer, and a quiet, really distorted one. Significant?

I took it to be somewhere near where Alex moved after giving Jay the tapes. We can be reasonably sure it's not from pre-(in-universe) Marble Hornets, what with the camera rolling the whole time, and Jay seeming nervous around Alex and/or the woods, hence we can assume it's after Jay and Alex met again in Entry 35, and that meeting was a result of Jay going where the package (Entry 26) said it was sent from, and as we now know it was (most likely, at least) Alex who sent the tape...

We did not find out this. We found out that Jay thinks Alex sent the package:
Quote:
"Alex must have been the one that sent the package to my hotel room in Entry #26. Why he did is unclear, but I'm hoping one of the tapes I have includes him explaining it to me."
But you make your own point--we have to be careful about what we know is fact and what we have assumed is fact. Smile

I'm really hoping this is for a video, and not Troy or Joseph logging in to check something silly.

i've only ever seen totheark log on right before posting a video; at one point totheark hadn't signed on for a year

In regards to Entry 38 I think this is definitely post MH and quite some time after 35 because as someone pointed out earlier Alex's hair is very different. I think they would have put more effort into making him look like the old Alex if it were old.
I definitely think Alex was planning to do something to Jay as he was changing tapes though. If he wasn't planning on using Jay for something there would have been no reason to bring him into the woods. There is always the possibility that Alex simply wanted to show him something, but he could have at least explained.
Random theory I don't even necessarily agree with: Slendy isn't necessary "evil" but is kidnapping children and hanging them from trees to mimic the behavior of the villagers. Similar to how he mimics human attire with his suit (possibly speech as well in the entry where Jay goes to Slenderland) he is just trying to fit in and do what everyone else does.

True, but... three hours before posting a video (or more)? Confused I'm honestly very hopeful we'll get a TTA tonight, but I'm also wary now that it's hours past when he logged in. Unless maybe it's a twenty minute HD video that explains everything and reveals eighty-three mysteries' answers and it's just taking three hours to process.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Or they uploaded it and it's private until it's 'time' to show it Razz

So unlabeled was just a typo, they logged in a couple hours ago and fixed it.

I'm really hoping that they didn't accidentally log into TTA when they meant to fix that typo...

I congratulate you on delivering this evening's trauma. Shocked

Oh goodness, this might be my favorite theory yet. Shocked

I'll add another theory to the batch. One of the other things from the original mythos was the whole "he doesn't exist unless you think about him" thing, which implies that he's a being created by people's thoughts and fears. So let's say there was a particularly fertile patch of forest with an isolated village nearby full of superstitious country folk. Weird stuff seemed to happen around there, either because there really was something weird going or it was just coincidence--forests can be dangerous places, after all. So they started doing the whole tying-to-trees thing. Over time, especially after the boy died, they began to fear that part of the forest and tell stories about an evil spirit that lived there, like the spirit of the trees or something. These thoughts and fears ultimately coalesced into... Slendy!

Huh, maybe that's why Slendy craves the camera so much. He wants people to remember him so he can continue to exist... which means that all of us watching Marble Hornets are helping him. *shudder*

Alternately, it's just one of those crazy legends every little town has and has no basis in reality (seriously, every town has a story about someone drowning or ghostly hitchhikers or something), but either Alex thinks it does or he was just trying to creep out Jay.

Also, at the very end, the first thing I thought was "Alex is going to tie Jay to a tree" and the second thing I thought was "Alex tied Tim to a tree and he's showing Jay". Alex is obviously very off in this video and Jay knows it, so I wouldn't put it past him to do either of these! Maybe he thinks if he sacrifices Jay to Slendy that he'll stop stalking him? Like the villagers a long time ago, sacrificing criminals to him (to go back to a different theory)?
