You have to make Paula use the "pray" command a couple of times.

well, you challenge him to a game of rock-paper scissors.

Choose scissors, you will always win.

If we can do Rock/Paper/Scissors, can it be any game, like trying to cheat Death?
How 'bout Dungeons and Dragons? Or Battleship? Hell, why not an ARG!

Slenderman wins by default. Are you gonna tell him ravaging the brains of the puppetmasters is technically cheating?

Thanks, that gave me the idea to make this for my digital media project.

well, if its any other game, he'll probably just make your peice go from one square back to the start; you'd never beat his physics-bending...

but rock-paper-scissors will always be slendys weakness: he can only choose paper! (or rock, if he really tried hard, I suppose)

I'm going to shock everyone by giving a serious answer to the original question. At this point, that's practically being off-topic Razz

Alex actually has defeated the Slenderman before, if you are willing to accept 'escape' as a type of 'defeat.' The solution seems to be to just stop thinking about him. Alex got rid of his tapes, left town, and removed himself from everything associated with Slenderman, and it worked. As far as we can tell, he had two years of monster-free normalcy.

Jay started to do the same, and things started to get better for him.

The solution probably would have been permanent, if events hadn't drawn them back into the thick of things. And by 'events,' I mean (probably) totheark.

I'll actually be disappointed if the story ends with a violent confrontation with the Slenderman. It's just totally the wrong tone. An action-packed finale might work for some horror stories, but not this one. Also, watching a bunch of guys pretending to fight a paper-mâché mannequin would be uh...

so really the secret would be to get rid of TTA? The odd thing, though, is that Alex wasn't disturbed by TTA...he was disturbed by the slenderman who was snacking in the kitchen, after the tapes were brought out. And this in turn brought in Jay, although it would seem that Alex discovered the masky problem as well soon after the incidents.

And how would you really get into a violent confrontation with a mysterious figure who bends time and space and just sorta stares at you? The operator is anything but physical, so him doing kirate or getting into a shootout is pretty much expected not to happe. Masky, however, or TTA, or Alex...these are all more than capable at it, as has been demonstrated multiple times (violent confrontations, not martial arts or gunfights, just for clarification)

You know, in a roundabout way, that might be true.

Judging from the conversation in #26, Alex made it a point to not ever own a camera again. And we definitely know that he intended to get rid of all of his slender-related footage (his original plan was to burn it, which was probably a good call all things considered). I don't think that a camera, complete with Slender-footage and everything, ended up in his closet because he just accidentally carried with him to his new house. And I especially don't think that the weird TTA-style material that was originally on the tape was created by Alex.

Yeah, pretty much. I brought it up because I've seen lots of people clamoring for exactly this kind of ending. And, as you and I are both saying here, a heroic battle isn't a very appropriate (or logical) way to end a story like this.

As long as Slenderman would stay the hell out of my house, I wouldn't even care. He can stalk me all he wants, I'd get used to it eventually.

For real though, I thought that WATER was the weapon against him, not fire. I don't know, I just picked this up from small previous things, I can't exactly remember which entry it was but the one where Tim, I believe, is talking into the camera and slenderman is chilling right outside the window? When Tim goes to take a sip of water the video crashed or something. Blah, I can't remember, it's been too long since I looked at early Season 1 stuff.

but remember, Slendy likes to attract creepers of the masked variety...which also do not like being ignored Wink I don't think you could live a harmonious life with slendy in tow, too much baggage.

I just wanted to make it clear that you can't kill the Slender Man...

Not until Brad Vickers shows up in a helicopter and drops you a rocket launcher.
