Hey, I thought I might as well mention this exchange in our emails. Tom said that he might use some of it in a post, so you might see it eventually anyway, but here it is:

Me:
Quote:
I was thinking about your entry about the "game" your sister taught you, because it reminded me of something. When I was a kid, my grandmother used to blame things like that on a girl named Beth, who she claimed haunted her house. Maybe it was just being a kid, or maybe she was right, but I swear I saw her a few times. Gran used to say that she wasn't mean, just mischievous. Was your Mr. Thief like that too? Not mean, but mischievous?

Tom:
Quote:
About your grandmother and "Beth" it seems like when things go missing, people automatically look for someone to be 'responsible', since the clash between reality and our memory leaves us confused, and without answers. I remember as a kid I believed I had seen Mr. Thief a few times, in the distance, or out of the corner of my eye. What I believed I saw was a tall man made of pitch blackness. I'm sure I was just seeing shadows. I wouldn't have described him as mischievous; I don't know that I would say he was mean or evil, but neither would I call him playful, or benign.

The thing about Beth is true. I thought his description of Mr. Thief was interesting.

Mr. Thief Shocked i have a feeling we'll be hearing more about him. (i hope!)

does anyone have time to create a brief "story so far" for new players? if not i can try to get to it over the weekend.

I have detailed notes on each posting with observations at home as well as a "cast" list. It gives a good overview of what has happened with key observations along the current timeline. Will be happy to post that tonight if anyone wants it...

My thoughts exactly - wonder who the person in the woods is?

The name of the new painting seems interesting - and the paragraph about the gender confusion - it brings back the earlier conversation of hormone shots...

Of course he had to post this right after I posted my now out of date notes Wink

New e-mail from Pickman today, here's my email:

Ok, here's picture 2!

As long as I am emailing you, I wanted to ask you about dreams for a survey I am doing. If you could answer three questions for me it would really help on a school project!

1. Do you remember your dreams clearly?

2. What has been one of your most vivid dreams in the past month? If you can't remember any of them, just say so.

3. Have you ever had a recurring dream?

Thank you, sir!

And his response, in case anyone's interested:

Quote:
My guess for the wildcard pic is 'a squidlamp' XD

1. Not usually. Sometimes, but not recently.

2. Can't remember any of them.

3. Used to have this one about being in my grandma's attic, and finding a secret passage that let to a closet full of hatboxes. Probably had it 5 or 6 times.

Hope that helps!

I sent this back when I thought the dreamsurfer thing was still IG... so I guess it's not as useful information now. Honestly, the tidbits Pickman gave me seem kinda irrevalent now. Oh well.

Interesting entry...wonder if our visitor is as friendly and helpful as he seems?

I did a google search for "Grace Mission House" and had a few hits, but they all appeared to be OOG. Haven't had much time to work on the other unsolved puzzles, and, even if I had, puzzle solving is definitely not my forte. I'm very new to ARGs though, so those muscles are still in the infant stage. I'll keep working them out and hopefully I'll be of use in about 5 years or so.... Wink

Also...his description of Mr. Thief.... I don't really have a problem with the whole SM mythos in general, but am definitely tired of the sheer number of poorly done vlogs, blogs, etc out there. This looks to be so promising...I'm just crossing my fingers that it doesn't descend into the vast cauldron of ick that the slendyverse has become. Confused

Looks like a herp derp Seraph. Maybe it's a key for the code in the image?

The Code on the left is:

QWERSMOTWOPLREFAPBOSNMQGCLURELEIANTPNOOUCIHYPJSSRURDTQAAVSIOTWAE

Maybe someone can figure something out. I tested if it is a letter movement, so that A=B and so one, I was going through the whole alphabet, just gibberish! I'm stuck at this! Smile

I find it interesting that the first 4 letters are qwer, just like the first four letters on a keyboard. Maybe it has to do with letter placement on the keyboard?

I tried the every rotX possibility and that lead to nothing, and a substitution cipher attack didn't lead to anything either.
