People have tried to crack the password. I thought we decided not to try because you could delete posts and it would be going to far...

I think I've been reading into this ARG too much and losing my mind, but I'm just throwing this out there. It's the only way it makes sense to have that drawing on the map. Kraten I'm out of tin foil, can I borrow yours?

Wow! That definitely looks like the turtle map monster thingie!! I think you are on to a winner with this one, It just looks to similar to me to be a coincidence. Surely something has got to lead somewhere soon. Confused

Wasn't Cetus mentioned way back with the Craigs List ads? Tried to find the thread where someone said about the pins in the noticeboard resembling a constellation but couldn't find the one - I don't know if anything ever came of that anyway?

Also the more I look at that hole in the sties note it looks like the basic Cetus shape , you have to turn it to the left, but it looks kind of a bit like it to me.....hey there have been stranger suggestions! Screwy

I have done some digging on Cetus and found quite a lot of interesting bits, these sites being some of the ones that caught me eye -

Links here to Moby Dick!
http://davidwboswell.wordpress.com/2007/08/09/is-there-a-whale-constellation/

Note here the star named Menkar (or Al Minkhar) sounds a lot like Minker and also forms part of a three dot triangle.
http://www.skyscript.co.uk/cetus.html

A bit about Menkar -
http://cosmicgemslanka.com/blog/tag/cetus-constellation/

This is really weird! Seriously, follow the co-ordinates given in this thread on skymaps and you can actually see the stargate that they are talking about.
http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread640376/pg1

I definitely think this Cetus thing is worth looking into a bit more.

It was Cephus Back then but perhaps it is worth another look.

Just throwing this out there, though I don't know if it will lead to anything. The first time I saw the thumbtacks I immediately thought of Canus Major. I only saw thumbtack 1-5 though. Canus major has more stars but the only ones you see with the naked eye form that 5 point configuration. And looks similar to the 5 points that are shown in the trailer (ref. the link Kraten posted)

Haven't done any research though, so the Cetus/Cepheus connections may be right.

Yeah I don't see any other way that the creature drawing on the map is related anywhere else in this ARG, I mean look at how it relates to other parts of the game, sorta like Michelle posted..

Cetus constellation, whale creature:

Hooklineandminker: Unique fish > Whale
Revalistic: ASTRON(omy) = Constellations > Cetus constellation
Moby Dick = Epic story about a whale > Cetus creature, Greek mythology.

As far as I'm concerned, this is the first thing that's linked all those together. Where do we look from here? I'm thinking less about the creature and more about the stars, Cetus on the map may have been just a hint to look in that direction, especially with all the other talk about the nuclear testing/van allen belts on Revalistic.

Nice find Michelle. Love the trademark of the whale. If fact I liked it so much I dug a little deeper and found http://www.trademarkia.com/whale-scan-73542997.html
which lists Cetus as a "COMPUTER INFORMATION STORAGE AND RETRIEVAL IN THE FIELD OF PHARMACOLOGY" company. Not a biotech company as the wiki suggests. Heck it even has a FB page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Cetus-corporation/103149026391557

It could possibly be IG but I doubt it. The Cetus Corp wiki wasn't made until March 2008, even though the company was founded in 1971. Pretty much all the info around Cetus Corp is mysterious.

CETUS IPO

Good Find - But I really think CETUS - the Biotech firm is OOG

Got this from here http://www.nature.com/bioent/building/planning/012003/full/nbt0601supp_BE18.html

and it was written in 2001

The first 20 years

Biotechnology's first entry into the capital markets—generally considered to be Genentech's (S. San Francisco, CA) IPO in October 1980—was a $35 million offering. During the first 20 minutes of trading, the stock soared from an offer price of $35 per share to $88 and closed the day at $56, giving the company a valuation of $400 million. Next came Cetus; in March 1981, its IPO grossed $120 million—at the time the biggest industrial IPO in US corporate history—and gave the company a valuation of approximately $500 million.

I do think the FACEBOOK page is Fishy - All from the wiki site, No Likes, no comments, may be an attempt of a game jack if things start to pop up there

I went ahead and "liked" it just to monitor if there are any updates. Wink
The original poster for the Cetus Site and other subsequently weird web pages is a user named PaleWhaleGail, which is a reference to Moby Dick once again. However the user name has been in use for quite some time. If this is IG, it's not leading anywhere I want to go

Well, you get something exciting.

Edit: Ignore me, didn't find it because someone linked off of this thread to another one!

There's a new post at http://revalistic.com/ about a connection between Astron and a scientist - Nicholas Christifilos who worked at the Livermore Labs in the mid-1950s. It involves fusion and the Van Allen Belts and a possible accidental discovery of an alternative energy source.

So much for being a spectator - I have to go see what I can dig up...

EDIT: Just saw your post Melodyman - looks like you were posting as I typed.
