I can do that.
Provide me a link to the actual trailer you are referring to. That material has to be downloadable in some way (swf, mov, avi, mp4).
I can extract the sound to wav or mp3 and start editing/fiddling around with it.
On a first note: I never heard any simmilarities but I also didn't pay attention.

Edit: I use "downloadhelper" in Firefox to get me files. So, a Youtube-link would fit for example. From Apple's site it's a bit more complicated but imo I did rip there before, too. So, just a link to a site that offers one the above mentioned formats should fit.

The trailer I'm referring to is the one on super8-movie.com RealPlayer will allow you to download the full clip. But I'm going to attach a .wav as soon as I get it extracted
*EDIT* The only way I found for them to sound similar was to reverse expcnv and remove some of the gaps in between tones. My main question is what are the chords used in the trailer? I'm not musically inclined. I think chords would be the right terminology.

Well, there is a (big) difference between a chord and a single note.
EXPCNV contains single notes.
A chord is 2 or more (mostly 3) notes played simultaneously. On a guitar, for example, you mostly play 6 strings-> 6 notes simultaneously and speak of a chord. On a piano you have an easier way to pick which keys you want to sound.
I'll look through your file now.

Ahh, you meant the intro to the theme Smile.
Ok, that was a quick one.
Answer: nope. I don't think it has anything relevant to expcnv.
1. The intro only has 7 notes compared to 8 for expcnv
2. The intro imo plays somewhat like e dis e h a h fis (european ladder)
3. you can count that using the pic I submitted in the Braegen-thread.

16180339 does not sound right in a musical quality anyway. 1618 is quite ok, depends on what's up to follow. But 0339 as a follow up just does not "ring". 0339 on itself does not sound very coherent from a musical ear.
So, that was just to say: don't expect anything score-wise to be a derivate of expcnv. Unless it sounds like a strange prog-rock-band from the 70s Smile.

Music theory and close encounters

This may help, if it hasn't been dicussed before.

Close encounters used a 5 note system, Super 8 ,8 note system lol.

Thanks for looking into that SeekerX. Just want to rule out all possibilities. And besides, even IF they matched, wtf would that tell us Laughing

It could have told us that it is a very important aspect.
Like the dimension of the cube to follow 1:PHI and that that is the perfect ratio for the barrel of a laser beam rifle with a pulse of 0.16180339 nsecs and that, after all, the origin of the alien may lye 1:PHI miles or even lightyears away from Alpha Centauri.... Smile
Yeah, I guess, we have to look at the most obvious instead of going to extremes.

Found something interesting. Probably me being stupid. Or reading into it too much.
Specific frequencies in expcnv and corresponding Dewey Decimal System categories
C = 523.251 Hz - 523 Specific celestial bodies & phenomena

C# = 554.365 Hz - 554 Earth sciences of Europe

D# = 622.254 Hz - 622 Mining & related operations

F# = 739.989 Hz - 739 Art metalwork

G# = 830.609 Hz - 830 Literatures of Germanic languages

A# = 932.328 Hz - 932 History of ancient world; Egypt

Mr Ed

I am sorry to start walloping a equine species that is bereft of life,

This sound file and the "frequency numbers" on the maps? Set it to the right frequency?

Mysterio says my notes.. does he mean this file? Music notes?

wavenumber frequency diagram or temporal frequency

I know this pattern keeps popping up for us so I am torn between theories of light or theories of sound since sinusoidal wave form seems to be everywhere.. look at the edges of the badges.. oscillating wave patterns can be seen there as well as above the authorization codes.

I know this did not help things ..and I am becoming immune to the effects of (Al) + (AL2O3)..but I do feel better that those unconnected ramblings are out of my head.

soooo....uhhh...yeah.....thx...k...bye..
