well I used to play guitar a long time ago and there are chords that are named [letter]m(inor)[number]. So I pulled out my old chord book and see an Am6, Am7, Am9, but no Am4. The closest I can find is an A minor sus(pended) 4. That's all I can find online.

Somewhere in the cobwebs in the corners of my brain I seem to remember 7th's and 6th's and 9th's, but no 4th's.

That would make it the fourth note of the a-minor scale.

D

ah! dmax! Hehe, I quit my lessons as soon as we started learning scales, seemed more mathematical than fun. Guess I should have continued Wink

An A minor 4th is not a chord of any kind, as far as the numerous ways of charting go. Closest would indeed be an Asus, in which case minor/major is irrelevant. As far as the scale thing goes, the 4th (D) would be the same whether it was a major or minor scale of any kind, so I'm not sure that's the right track, either.

Agree with that. I was thinking that "aye major forth" might be more confusing, as well as not taking advantage of the homophone theme.

And, living in the Bay Area, I will refrain from making a possibly-taken-poorly comment about the homophone theme. The reader is left to do it himself, as an exercise in sophomoric humor.

Add a letter to each word? How about "b" as in bring bone?

translates to: UUAREEYETEAE (a=1, b=2, etc.)

UUAREEYETEAE = U U ARE EYE TEA E = U U R I T E?

say it phonetically?

you are right

so the letters would be U and R?

I'm noticing that U and E seem to flank the phonetics. It's better if you think of "U you are right E"

So that's another choice.

If you compare these to their homophones:

Aye = I
Miner = MinOr
Forth = FoUrth

You can get IOU.
