The overlap was just a lack of foresight when drawing the tree, nothing significant there. And on the cast that watched the videos -- I wanted to cover all of my bases.
Time was lost in the interim between viewing the videos and waking up, with no recollection or explanation as to what happened to the crew to put them in the shape they find themselves in. It was sort of evocative of the teleportation the boys experience in Ashen Waste, although on a much smaller scale. There's the possibility of some sort of timeline divergence, as it seems like they become, temporarily, trapped in the ARK World. Assuming there's a divergence there, we have to consider that before the missing eight minutes, a shadow passes over the cast. Something entered the room. Probably something we know, and know well.
Tends to stalk. Eviscerate. Survival very, very doubtful.

Also, to be clear, this is just for play. Razz

 		If it wanted them dead I think it would have done that months ago here in BK. Evan only got hurt when he attacked, and while he seemed near death, when they were sent home his wounds were healed.

I think it wants them alive - maybe we can even go so far as to say cultivated - at least as long as it takes to once again complete this cycle. Why else did it kill only Steph's family, but tell her to go east? To Jessa and company? They're being groomed, and yes those connotations are creepy.

Again I've got to return to the idea of the Twin Peaks angle - maybe it's all about the ritual, feeding on their pain and suffering. Maybe it can't get what it wants from them without the ritualized cycle. In that sense it's perhaps not totally unlike the analogy I once presented to them - like a serial killer, needing the ritual, the ceremony.

You're going to have to explain that diagram a lot better. It's just random red lines with splotches. What's START? What's going on at the bottom? What's...everything?

 		Has anyone asked them if they did any looking over the photo or map, or perhaps cross referenced Jessie's binder with the info they found in the storage garage?

Edit: I ask because it seems the ball is in our court, so I'm trying to figure out what information we have and haven't inquired about yet.

You're going to have to explain that diagram a lot better. It's just random red lines with splotches. What's START? What's going on at the bottom? What's...everything?

Chronologically, it reads bottom-to-top. The numbered yellow lines mark events (listed below). When the red lines split, that's a split in the timeline.

Start marks the start of EMH, I think. All the lines before that part are those of the MT4 kids. So the line that comes for event 6 (the events of the storage locker) means that our EMH boys went back in time to event 1 (Corenthal visiting the locker many years ago) and back.

I think the red splotches just mean we don't know what happens in those timelines, but I didn't make the chart. Smile

 		I still can't quite follow that thing, but it is quite interesting. I don't think I believe that every hidden video resulted in a tangent version of the EMH crew or whatever, though.

I got that they were timelines, but I don't know where you got the timelines from. Seems like you drew most of the lines randomly. Especially at the bottom.

Tried to be as non-random with the top lines as I could be.
As for the MT4, well.. I'm operating under the idea that history tends to repeat itself. Nobody could know the specifics, occourse, so I doodled to illustrate similar things occurring with time back then.

 		So, question:

Have we ever analyzed HABIT's fixation with drama? I mean, the Everyman play thing would have been a cute quirk on its own, but coupled with [ENTER THE TRAGIC HERO AND HIS UNATTAINABLE COMPANION]* I think it officially counts as a character trait. Any thoughts?

* As for the tragic hero, I'm not sure what the consensus is as of now, but my thoughts are it refers to Steph (since that video was the first video that truly brought CYSTW into the ARG main), but gender pronouns foils me again. Or us (since it introduced the first real ARG element with the coordinates), but singular might rule us out. Either way, nobody else seems to have been "introduced" then. Perhaps Shade, if Shade is the one behind all the ARG aspects, or Corenthal (Linnie being his companion?) if he's the one behind the coordinates.

As for "[ENTER THE TRAGIC HERO AND HIS UNATTAINABLE COMPANION]", I think I've said this somewhere before but I've always taken that as HABIT's self-introduction, considering he more than likely is the one who left said note. And wasn't that HABIT's first "screen-time"? "TRAGIC HERO/ UNATTAINABLE COMPANION" savours rather heavily of the Evan/HABIT connection to me... Though I concede it could be something else.

Anyway. We shouldn't forget that Evan was the one who posted the Slushpops video, so if anyone added the "TRAGIC HERO/ UNATTAINABLE COMPANION" message it was him. (Including the heavy breathing noises. Which still creep me out, because hi, that's the kind of thing a stalker does, right?)
