Lipps Leroux - This is My Milwaukee?

May be nothing... but she just added me as a friend. Maybe TIMM is going to pick up again? I mean, is it normal for characters to be unactive for a long period of time to come back and not mean anything?

EDIT:
Added the title to the subject, and from the looks of it she just added ninety people on Facebook?

EDIT2:

I sure hope TIMM becomes active again. I had been reading on all kinds of ARGs for months - and when I finally decided to get active on TIMM, it seemed to have stopped - even though I had accepted Cool Dog as my saviour.

Straight from her facebook. Phone number, I'm guessing? I can't call it but can anyone see what they can find out?

As far as I can tell, it cannot be completed as dialed. I'll keep my ear to the ground, though.

Kind of wish we could get a confirmed restart or something. This is kind of lame.

Okay, so here's something. I found this post from Sarah Brin, whose tumblr I just happen to follow.

http://dinosaurparty.tumblr.com/post/3098028812/a-reasonable-haven-this-is-my-milwaukee

As you can see, the mystery number is there in the extension. Furthermore, there's a comment at the bottom of the page from an anonymous someone simply called C., which struck me as a bit odd. (Chuck Jagoda, perhaps?)

"There's nothing more beautiful than function! A friendly instructional to help citizens move is wonderful, but what if a whole world were crafted the same way ... precise, overwhelming, and playful? Let's explore new cities! What happened before? Reserve a table for five, and hit the dance floor when we're done."

The way it's worded seems like it could possibly be from someone involved with the game? It reminds me of the story "Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius" by Jorge Luis Borges where a group of individuals so fleshes out a fictional world they've created that it literally begins to bleed into the real one. Maybe this is a hint as to the artistic intent behind TIMM?

Either that or some cool guy just got way colorful with his language and I'm way too excited because I still love this freaking game years later.

The "reserve a table for five"-thing sounds weird enough to be something straight out of TIMM. Plus, it's about food... And there was the dancing scene in the TIMM video ("the streetcar shuffle was invented in the canning district").

Ofcourse, I'm also just desperately hoping TIMM is not dead yet.

The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that it's in-game. Lipps directs us to a Tumblr where a mysterious guest posts a mysterious message...

I'm thinking about the "let's explore new cities" thing - I already googled "this is my decatur" but alas.

Gosh, let's just hound Lipps and see what else we can get out of her. At this point, whether it's a sign of a restart or not, it's the closest we've been in a while to anything resembling a puzzle, or activity, or really any sign of life for TIMM.

Also, should we move this thread, someone?

There's also some discussion on the original TIMM thread (http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=27073&start=1665), but something new happened and it's causing rumors so I guess this thread could remain in "news and rumors"? Although that's just my n00b opinion.

Good enough for me. So let's see what we can make of this, ASSUMING IT'S IG FOR A GAME THAT HAS BEEN DEAD FOR TWO YEARS. (Gosh, I'm pitiful.)

"There's nothing more beautiful than function! A friendly instructional to help citizens move is wonderful, but what if a whole world were crafted the same way ... precise, overwhelming, and playful? Let's explore new cities! What happened before? Reserve a table for five, and hit the dance floor when we're done."

The first few sentences are pretty straightforward, and still remind me of that Borges story, and are maybe hinting at the fact that it's an ARG? Kind of like a TINAG wink?

It gets really odd for me at "Let's explore new cities! What happened before?" This, to me, can be one of two things: A hint in a new puzzle for us to solve, having to do with the disaster that messed up the world of TIMM, OR this is not IG and a fan is just wondering why the game died.

Finally, the last sentence, to me is similar. Either a hint, or a very spirited person playing along with the game and encouraging the people who made the game to keep on going.

So let's say, maybe we need to rewatch the video and look for clues in the nightlife segment? Or let's harangue Lipps some more and see if we can get anything out of her.

I still just can't shake the feeling I'm beating a dead horse.

If it was not IG, why would Lipps link to it? Also, who - except a spambot - would write stuff like "Let's explore new cities! What happened before? Reserve a table for five, and hit the dance floor when we're done" ?

I've been rewatching the original TIMM video over the past couple of days and the way things are written here just reminds me a lot of the strange expressions used over there. Remember the part where Terry Nanny says something about "sex with things other than human"? Ofcourse, TIMM has been a pretty random ARG from the beginning, with references to flax seed, Voltaire, a secret weapon, hamBURger, cool dog, and what not. So, I would be very surprised if this was not written by someone from the TIMM project.

I think the people in the other thread have a very plausible scenario: this may have been a campaign for which funding was withdrawn (a viral for a videogame that was cancelled?), but the makers were bound by non-disclosure agreements which, perhaps, are soon coming to an end. They could either continue with the original TIMM, or do something similar - the words here seem to imply the latter.

regardless of whether or not this is a restart or just someone playing along, the more people we get back in the game the higher chance we have of figuring this whole thing out, so i say spread the word and let's see what happens
