lmao!!
Nice job Jane!
I think that sums it up quite well. Sounds exactly how I explained it to my husband.
Him - 'So what is this ARG thing?'
Me - 'Well it's a bit like a game'
Him - 'Right, so what do you have to do?'
Me - 'Well there are these files, and photos and stuff and basically a lot of info that seems like back story to the Super 8 film and we are trying to figure it all out'
Him - 'Figure what out?'
Me - 'Errrr, mmmmmmmmm, actually I don't really know anymore'
Him - 'So what is the game then?'
Me - 'Mmmmm, I don't know'
Me - 'Well, there's loads of interesting stuff that we found about aliens and government conspiracies' (my attempt to make him interested).
Him - 'So basically you are trying to figure out what happens in the film'
Me - 'No, not really, I don't think so....I don't know!'
Him - 'So what is about then'
Me - ' Well basically there's this guy called Josh, and his Dad was involved with the alien in some way and well that's about it really.'
Him - 'Sounds like a waste of time'
The long and the short of it is that basically I couldn't tell him WHAT this is about or WHY we are playing it!
Your vid made laugh so much Jane thank you! xx

Thanks Jane and kel for letting the rest of us know we're not alone.
Oh and kel - now we know who mysterio is. He's a little older and lost some hair but I'm pretty sure that's Father Guido Sarducci.

He lost his hat on the pilgrimage from Area 51 to Ohio, but not to worry, there's a St. Vincent de Paul's dollar store on the way.

Very funny!
When this first started out (The ARG) I would try and tell friends about it, and found a correlation between the more "clues" I tried to bring them up to speed on, and either A) the more their jaws would drop, and/or B) they would start increasingly yawning more and more, before eventually nodding off into a semi-comatose, drooling, catatonic state.
I haven't heard from those friends for quite some time, and I've learned my lesson; now when the friends I still have ask what I've been doing to kill time, I simply respond, "all of my time has been preemptively killed for me, and I don't know nuttin'."
