Uh, I'm so sad he had to cancel out of MegaCon. I was really looking forward to seeing him again.

I keep spying the Dragon*Con guess list to see if he appears. He's gone a few times but the last time I missed him somehow.

I've gone to D*C the last four years, and, during that time, he's only been there in 2009. I hope he shows again this year, too! Cool

Well well well, if this article from yesterday is to be believed, there is already work moving forward on Tron 3!

I think the article is rather well balanced in its discussion about it, and seems to confirm that work has begin. Very very interesting news/confirmation of what we suspected!

Actually it's not Bruce B, but Joe Kosinski talking about Tron 3. I didn't want to make a new thread.

Taken from www.isnnews.net

TRON 3
According to TRON: LEGACY director Joseph Kosinski, TRON 3 is (almost) a go! And though he didn't explicitly say, we suddenly have a stronger idea of WHO the villain of the next film might be.
While out promoting the TRON: LEGACY DVD and Blu-ray release, Kosinski talked about the main storyline for the third entry in Disney's sci-fi franchise (the movie may have made only $170 million in the U.S., but it made $400 million worldwide, and the DVD and Blu-ray sales will probably bring in a load of cash for Disney), saying the main storyline would be about the adventures of Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund) and Quorra (Olivia Wilde):
"I think we will pick with where TRON: LEGACY left off with Quorra [Olivia Wilde] in the real world and what does that mean and the possibilities it opens up for the next chapter. It's that relationship between the two of them that's the next step."
As for the role of the villain and though Kosinski didn't actually SAY onew possibility is Dillinger's son, played by an uncredited Cillian Murphy, who had a brief cameo in Legacy and also figured (if only referenced by Bruce Boxleitner's Alan Bradley character, which was really cool) in the 10-minute featurette TRON: THE NEXT DAY:
"Dillinger [David Warner] was a really important part of the first film and felt like an easy way to continue that storyline and thread to have his son in the new movie. That way you have people ask those questions of what the Dillinger legacy is in the world of TRON. We didn't want to ignore it completely and it leaves a really nice springboard for some intertwining development for the next film."
We may even get the reappearance of that pesky Master Control Program from the first Tron film which we also talked about here. You just can't keep a bad program down.
Joseph Kosinski says he officially wants to come back as director of TRON 3, but it will all depend on what project will come next: It'll perhaps be OBLIVION, or the remake of another Disney sci-fi blast from the '80s (1979, to be precise, but it's almost the '80s), THE BLACK HOLE.
And he also plans on bringing back the same team that worked on TRON: LEGACY: "That's my intent. We're developing it now. It's all about getting a script and story and making sure we can get the same team back together."

I just heard that Bruce and Melissa are separated as of last month. I hope the movie wasn't a factor. After we learned who ISOlatedThinker was, I kind of assumed his join date on the FL forums was the day they started dating in RL. Of course that also assumes Bruce was the one actually posting on the forums.

I don't think he had anything to do with the online forums; it was all prewritten text that was posted as puzzles were put up.

I'm pretty sure all the forum stuffs was pre-written for the most part, too.

42 may have had it set out on their end who all the various people on the forum are or who they wanted them to be.

Like they probably had Zack earmarked as Ram's user and ISOlated as Alan from the beginning and maybe a few others. But I think the only one that was 110% going to get revealed was Sam as EightyNine the rest would be dependant on who they could get for filming. The actors likely wouldn't have had anything to do with deployment.
