Who has been archiving all this?

Corenthal himself?

While on the run? For at least a decade?

*shrug*

Whoever put the metal tin/ label in the storage unit?

MOR! TANGENTS:

The last entry(8/16 2005) is kinda sorta terrifying.

One, it was a downtown eatery. Dozens of victims. And Corenthal was backing into the frame. Like he saw something and was backing away?

I wonder if it's possible to get ahold of the security camera footage? It seems like it's unclear of what happened. Why was Corenthal fighting people off? Surely a dozen people could handle one guy? Screwiness abounding.

Sorry, I might have missed something, but could someone link me to what he's talking about? I'm guessing it's some kind of .zip/.rar file on the EMH mediafire or it's a Google Docs page.

Alright, read the microfilms a couple times, have some thoughts:
Could the Good Samaritan Hospital event be connected with the Lambertville riot? Maybe all these people see the doctor come in, recognize that he's got a slender reputation, and demand that he turn and leave? He's backing away to avoid them, when the big man himself (or maybe lil snoopy) appears, causing some damage?

I'd like to know who the Hensons and Willers are, for some reason I'm reminded of Seeking Truth.

I also wonder what those kids are up to...

So do we think that the Rake has been living in the shed since the crawspace was wiped out of existence, or was it just happenstance that he was in there?

I don't think he's been living there, but I also don't think it's happenstance.

I think it's fair to assume that Jessie's Grandmother was Rake'd, so he was probably out there.

Considering that the Rake had Sparky, I think it was an obvious trap for Alex.

Whatever reason the Rake had for stalking Alex is the probably the same reason he was in the shed.

Alex! ;_; Breaking my heart here. I really hoped EverymanHYBRID wouldn't go the dead pet route. Alex really needed his dog, with everything in his life falling apart like this, parents dead, brother absent in mind if not in body, being stalked by an unnatural horror (or possibly two of them)... This really sucks for the poor kid.

And the bit with the boombox was creepy. I'm glad Vinnie said what all of us were thinking.

Well, now we have a possible answer there: The Tape Deck of Parental Voices

I had the same thought as well, but while watching, I initially thought that when the "Goodnight" was said from the Tape Deck, it was taking place simultaneously as the clip of Sparky looking down the steps, which led to Sparky being led out to the shed by The Rake. The fact that we got to see the clip of Sparky is puzzling me. The most simple explanation that I can think of is that HABIT absolutely has to be related to The Rake somehow.

Don't know if this has been mentioned or not, but Evan and Damsel have apparently been getting... cozy lately. I mean, I know there's a history with Jessie, but I believe she's been described as Evan's EX-girlfriend. I'm going to feel like kind of a dick if this is behind-the-curtain stuff spilling over into the game, and I'm outing the creators rather than the characters, but if their apparently flirtatious closeness is indeed in-game, do you folks think there might be any important implications? I mean, we all know that SOMETHING is going on with wonky Evan. Could Steph have some insight that everyone else might not have? And how could we approach her about it tactfully, especially now that Evan has been ripped up so badly?

This was an ok episode, a bit drawn out with a 9:30ish runtime, but alright. The real gem in this video is the Rake ending. The dialogue was a bit narmy and unrealistically voiced (jeff and evan sounded very placid and nonchalant at the end). I think Alex's part with his mom's voice on the boombox was quite silly. And it didn't sound like it was coming from the boombox at all, it sounded more like an unedited soundclip put into the video. Rolling Eyes
You think it was silly...I think it was creepy as hell. It's just so out of tune from reality, and you think what kind of mind would do that. It was reminiscent of Salad Fingers. There's nothing more scary than the absurd.

exactly. It's a tough thing to look at, regarding Alex. On one level, we get a very real explanation on the mental health of Alex. It makes it harder to laugh at the stupid things he does(Vinnie's phone) when you know he's got real problems going on.

I always thought there was something off about Alex...not even in regards to his parents. Just the fact that he seems to stay at home all day and doesn't really have any friends, and his generally spacey personality. Although he is in a band.

Nah, he's said to have friends. He was "out of state with his friends" the night of the sleep experiment, according to Jeff's outburst in one of the morse code videos, when they were trying to explain the little burnt photo collage in the spare room.

I just had an awful thought. What if the supposed continuity errors from before aren't at all. Vinnie and Evan refer to Jeff's parents in "Jeff", what if they were still alive then? That was "months ago".

Taking this further:

Given that Evan is likely HABIT (or at least intermittently possessed by such), and if HABIT "owns" the Rake ("Snoopy"), it seems interesting that Evan is ALWAYS the one to jump on any encounters with him. Not only that, but Evan is always the one responsible for driving/fending him off. I mean, granted we have exactly two data points, but aside from the initial attack on Alex, it seems odd that Evan seems to be involved with Rake shenanigans more than the others.

As for the transcripts:

I don't think the sudden spike in popularity is too odd. There was a large gulf of time between event 1 and event 2, and another large gap (for him to lose his prestige) between 2 and 3. The three where he's becoming increasingly hated are very close, chronologically, leading me to think it's a snowball effect.

Anyway, I think the reports make it pretty clear than Corenthal is trying to treat children with problems similar to the MT4. I'm not sure if this is because he's caught on to the "cycle" and is trying to find them, or if it's because he feels he set the demons loose on the world by failing his children (or otherwise responsible).

To get more specific, I think the exact entity he's dealing with is HABIT, in some form. It's no secret that HABIT isn't exactly fond of Corenthal, and the fact that the attacks are rather visceral sounding pretty much rules out Slendy (Slendy wouldn't leave remains like that, for one, they'd probably be in a bag or something). So if we latch onto HABIT has it out for Corenthal, and "JUST DEALING WITH SOME OLD HABITS" I think HABIT may be deliberately sabotoguing him by sending Snoopy out to kill people he's been in contact with. As for the last one, if he's backing into the frame, it's possible he was backing away from something ELSE, perhaps he was avoiding the Rake, who proceeded to kill the people. I think Corenthal inciting a riot is a bit out there, unless of course he got possessed or everyone freaked out on him because he was "that killer dude on the news." Even in the latter case, there's almost no way he killed all the people, which pretty much leaves Rake and Possessed.

Though where do the EMH crew live? Is it Lambertville? If so that's preeeeeeety coincidental. Anyone feel up to asking the gang if they remember anything like that on the news? It's a bit of a long shot, since they were 13 or so then, but hey. Hmm... that's about the right age for high school, give or take, I wonder if that date may have some odd cosmological connection with when they met in high school.

Christ, I'm going to have to watch the 11/26 livestream now. Sad

It'd make sense. Even though he stopped paying attention to Alex's well-being during, as Evan put it, the "sad panda" phase, it seems peculiar that he'd just up and leave his brother alone to trek across the east coast and then to Ohio.

I'd imagine their deaths fell sometime after he returned, which would probably explain how he started slipping into that state: First Jessa disappears, then his parents are killed.

I really think we'd have heard about it if their parents had suddenly died mid-game.

As for Corenthal, I did ask the boys to look into any information in Hamilton or Monroe re: the Corenthal incidents, specifically the big gala in '93. There's got to be something.

If he's out there on Baldpate, why are they constantly being directed out there, through the crawlspace, etc? Wouldn't SM/HABIT want them kept away from Corenthal?

And who put the can with the archive label on it in the storage facility? Who destroyed the film in there (Jeff's letter indicated there were scraps of film in it)?

Maybe all this was actually done to drive Corenthal to Baldplate, which is why everyone's constantly being drawn there. The driving force here wants them to all go there, probably so they can be glomped into the ark.

Okay. 19:58 of the 11/26 ustream. Evan says they died "awhile ago".

Since we don't have anything definite, I think it's fair enough to assume that they died before EMH. But it might not be too long before?

So I think we're back to where we need to find out more about their passing. I don't think Jeff is the one to ask. From his reactions in the video, Vinnie is probably our best bet.

They don't refer to his parents.
