Is the government aware of slenderman?
And if so, are there any instances of it in slenderARGs

In the original SA posts, most of the time it mentions government officials (I.E. police, mayors, etc) and/or military squads investigating the 'phenomenon'. That's why I'm asking.

Seeking Truth had Agent Fisk, who's part of the FBI.

In a later post in The Mystic, he went into more depth about it, explaining Fisk as part of the government's attempt to clean things up after Slendy. http://helpingthosehelpthemselves.blogspot.com/2010/12/more-i-observe-situation-going-on.html

(Omega beat me to it while I was typing, but here you go.)

I know of a few off-hand, there's probably several more I'm not thinking of.

The Seeking Truth/The Mystic storyline includes both police officers investigating disappearances involving the Slender Man, as well as an FBI agent named Fisk. It puts forward the idea that the government knows the Slender Man exists but can't do anything about it, instead using Fisk's FBI unit to do damage control and keep things classified.

As for military forces, Observe and Terminate features an secret NGO-military group that deals with paranormal threats (werewolves, vampires, more) worldwide, with the Slender Man having it's own division. Gets quite a bit sci-fi for a Slender story in the later chapters, but I still recommend it for plentiful mindscrew.

I'm unaware of any instances in the vlogs or actual ARGs, but in the chaotic fiction sides the angle has definitely been approached.

Hmm

I somehow doubt that the government would do anything about The Slender Man unless they had undeniable evidence that he existed and had already killed many people. High ranking officials have probably heard of him,due to the amount of publicity he's getting over the net.As with most disastrous events, the government will not do anything until it's too late.

At the new Slender Man wiki, they have something called "The Organziation" which appears in Dark Harvest and the Seed Eater experinces.

Making it Count also involved a run in with the FBI (although that is heavily linked to Zeke Strahm).

Dark Harvest had an enounter with the authorities.

I imagine the reason they don't show up in a lot of the vlogs is because it takes quite of a lot organisation to employ a respectable looking actor to play the part (seeing as most of these series' are run by late teen/early twenty year old guys).

Of course, Tribe Twelve managed to get a dude who could convincingly play a WWII vet, and one that spoke German at that. I think it could be done, but it would be pretty hard to do.

Not sure if this counts, but he was documented by the SCP foundation at some point.

Isn't the SCP version of Slendy is called Bundle or something?
