Has anybody else had the Chicago mission pop up on Facebook, or was it one of those 'If you're not on it at exactly 12:01 EST you're out of luck'? Just wondering.

Nope, the time you're on fb doesn't matter, I just logged on (it's 5:30 my time) and I got the mission just fine

I'm at 14400, whatever that means. I managed to slog through level three, but am fast losing interest in the mindless click, click. Too bad, it was an interesting premise.

I haven't been able to make myself finish level four. I'm afraid to discover that levels five, six and seven are more of the same.

Well - I have found a social game like Farmville, mafia wars and the like are very different from a more "traditional" ARG and it seems America 2049 is so far going the route of Farmville (multiple levels that are overall very similar in format and game play)- they are trying for some ARG/transmedia elements with having the Zooglio and other sites as well as mentioning the "real-world" events - but so far I have not seen ANY tie in to those events or anything else.... what a shame and waste - they could maybe host something, or foster discussions or connect the digital and events (Tron Legacy for instance and the Black helix and Snow Town and others....)

Anyone gone to any of the events?

Special Agent

Hey guys, wanted to see if you would do me a favor. Just received a special agent invitation from Jefferson Williams in the game and I need to recruit a few more folks to fulfill my part in this. For anyone who hasnt played this ARG yet, yes some of the actual playing of the game can get "farmvillish" but if you pay attention to the parent company and what they are trying to "breakthrough.tv". I think the attention to civil rights and women rights are an exceptional thing and rare in ARG's.

Anyways it would be a great favor for any newcomers to go to www.facebook.com/America2049.....like their page and then post on their wall "New agent reporting for duty thanks to special agent Nick Griffin"

To actually play the game go to America2049.com. If anyone needs help please email me at Ngriffin1SPLATgmail.com and I would be happy to oblige.

Sad seeing this topic die, while the game continues on its rails without us.

I've never done anything since giving them my email during the pre-game countdown, so it amuses me when I get their weekly updates in my inbox, telling me what a good job i'm doing.

Here's this week's, with an invitation which might be of interest even if you are not playing along. (bolding is mine)
Quote:
Agent,

So far, so good. Now we have got to aim much bigger: from one man, to many votes. We need for you to focus on the ballot initiative. We can't stress how important it is to make sure voting is secure and accurate.

We ask that you travel many miles, to report for duty, Agent. Around 8 miles to be in fact. Please report for duty today, June 13, 2049 in Detroit, Michigan.

Also, Agents, this Friday, June 17th, meet other agents -- and the people behind America 2049 -- at the Arab American National Museum for a screening of the film, Welcome to Shelbyville, and a post-screening discussion.

Keep your nose to the ground, Agent,

The Council on American Heritage

The email links to an announcement on their Facebook, accessible without a login:

Here's a chance for you to meet the folks behind America 2049 from Breakthrough, connect with other agents face-to-face and watch a powerful documentary.

Those that haven't played America 2049, you're more than welcome to join:

'Welcome to Shelbyville' Screening
{snip}
Partnering with the Michigan Immigration Rights Center, the film will be held at the Arab American National Museum on June 17th at 7:30 pm.

This is a FREE event.
