All day I've been getting Application Error and can't get into the site. Anyone else having this or is this some new theorem - figure out how to get into the site?

You might want to explore the 'whole' help section.

I've been having the same problem...

Thanks for the tip--will do, as soon as I manage to get on the site!

I can't even blame P this time--I apologize that TMT's website is glitchy right now. Amazon's web services are having issues. I guess I'd better take over Amazon to fix it.

An article about the problem: http://news.cnet.com/8301-30685_3-20056029-264.html?tag=cnetRiver

I'm paradoxically happy about the website problems (which are still plaguing the site). I was half-convinced that the Application Error was itself a puzzle, and I'd gotten absolutely nowhere with it!

In the meantime, some of the riddles are fun, though there's no way of checking your answer.

The catenary one about the chain drop between the posts had me going for a bit. Wink

If you create an actual account, we can talk via PM and not display solutions to all.

source?
This one is driving me crazy

At some point, I saw in the source code for one page something to the effect of "find source seal", but I haven't been able to find it since. I've looked at the code for almost every page looking for something conspicuous. Enough people have found this, there has to be a simple solution.

Okay... It's officially turned into a joke, now.

The top 2 scorers are:

Eric-Take-2
and
CarpetbaggingCheater

Both with 3k+ points.
So, like most of these games, there's no system in place to deal with multiple account back-dooring.

Now that I've mentioned it, I guess I'll just sit back and watch the exacerbation commence knowing that my sub-1k score is nearly as good as can be had for real.

Interesting that nobody is sounding off about how the site going down totally broke the new scoring system if you didn't get the answer in during the first few hours.

BTW: "Source" is on every page.

Yea, I noticed that too. I'm sure the creators will change the system. I thought the point system was going to just keep track of theorems over the four week period.

I was never too concerned with the points, a little competition is always fun but just getting a puzzle or two a week is what I enjoy about the site. Besides that I think it will probably change again, and I like that they were willing to respond to the point gap problem in the first place. I don't see why they wouldn't fix this as well.

Traveler

Any hints for Traveler? Seems like I have traveled all over the site and beyond. Confused
