I think this is a fairly accurate article about Slendy. It doesn't really ruin his image that much, just brings it to more people.
Though calling the MH guys pranksters is a little off.

I facepalmed at all the creators flying in to defend it from a couple of Minnesotenese. Seriously, it's a local newspaper, and you're posting in the comments section. That's worse than arguing about Justin Bieber on Youtube. Standards, people. >_>;

Minnesotenese? Try Minnesotan please. Sorry, that's just me nitpicking.
And it's a bit more than a "local" newspaper. It's the largest one in the state. They're just trying to explain it to those who think the whole thing is a waste of time.

Cue Eternal September in the Slendyverse blogosphere. Though you sort of have to wonder why they actually ran this story without researching the ARG community behind it. Now it just feels like old media desperately showing they are still up with this fancy 2.0 world.

After brief talk with the author of the article, I have a few points that make me very sad journalism is what it is.
When she called MH "pranksters" she was not making fun of them. She means they're like the Blair Witch people, saying " the story isn't real (or is it?)." She found their series impressive.
She is going to change the wording of "the Marble Hornets" to better suit the fact that Marble Hornets is the name of the series.
And when calling Masky a demon, she was referring to him being a scary entity rather than a literal demon.

Well that was underwhelming. When I get my hands on a student newspaper writing position, remind me to actually write a proper article.

Well the revised section about Marble Hornets is up. And it's only mildly better. She would also like everyone to know that she knew the comments on her article on the Star Tribune website would not be favorable. "This story was too "out there" to wrap their brains around. Which is exactly why I wanted to pursue it, of course."

Sol, I commented on it because of the people who had commented on it before me. that and I figured that if someone is generally interested in the mythos, they can check out the list. It just pisses me off that people are claiming that it a rip off of {insert what have you} and jumping to conclusions about how stupid it is or that there are better things to worry about. Granted, there are, but this is entertainment :/ It's no better or worse than an actual book, movie, or video game.
(pardon if I sound pompous, I'm trying not to, but I'm terrible with words >.>; )

Am I the only one disappointed they wrote it Slender Man instead of Slenderman?
I always liked the one word.

I think this article raises a good question though. What if slenderman becomes main stream and gains the status of freddy krugar. What reaction would everyone here have if there was a movie and the mythos were turned to shit because of it?
I feel like if he becomes too out there he would just be a joke( but it would be bad ass to see him in a tree house of horror).
I would like to see a Slenderman movie, PROVIDED
1. It's made in the Blair Witch/Cloverfield POV camera shots
2. It's either really underplayed in general theatres (meaning there's far less chance of it being bastardized) or, even a release on the internet only.
3. It's made with a very small budget.
The good actors/etc are wanted in everything, so there's no need for it in the list. I think with these guidelines it could actually be very good.

Okay, "the Marble Hornets" is seriously fail. And there was little to no mention/research about the entire community behind this meme.
Journalists. I am disappoint.

A few of the authors have made responses to it on their Tumblrs. Over in the Seeking Truthiverse, the author had this to say:
