Am I the only one disappointed they wrote it Slender Man instead of Slenderman?

I always liked the one word.

Yes, you are. It is not "Slenderman." It is "The Slender Man." It's a nominal, not a name. I know that many people use "Slenderman," but I still hold that "The Slender Man" is the proper and "right" name.

/pointless rant that no one cares about

In the author's defense, she did this piece as a quite lifestyle/interest bit because the son of a friend made a phone call late one night while driving through a rural area. She heard about it from said friend after receiving the call from his son and she got interested. She stated in my phone call to her that she would liked to have done more research and included more than just Marble Hornets, but she was not allowed much space. She did identify that it's the psychology behind Slenderman that terrifies people, not the gore. Really, it's one article. If another newspaper or such picks up on this and they continue to report things a bit differently than they really are, then by all means, get upset. But really, for the time and space she was allowed, it's not half bad.

Jesus Christ, for someone who's claiming to not be angry, he sure mad.

Shiiii
Although I guess I can understand the annoyance (though he claims to not be annoyed, but whatever), not sure if it was necessary to actually...name people.

He's claiming to not be angry at the article. Looks to me he's pissed off at the people invoking it as some sort of mainstream acceptance.

What's to be angry about this article, honestly? Nothing, really. Slender Man isn't a priority to newspapers. The woman probably needed an article and bullshitted this off the top of her head. You really have to laugh at it more than get angry at it.

The media does stuff like this all the time. This is nothing new. Being featured in an article, as stated in the post, doesn't mean anything. The world is not going to be made more aware of Slendy because of this article. I think you guys put too much faith in today's newspaper if you really think that's going to happen.

You guys should stop trying to make the mythos more mainstream and just focus on enjoying the stuff put out. Just saying.
