So, in regards to the new post at CYSTW...

I don't want to beat a dead horse, but my immediate thought upon seeing that video and listening to the song was, "Oh wow, maybe I was right about Evan and Steph!"

Anyway, if I were writing it, that's how I'd do it. Steph is falling into a false sense of security, feeling like she's finally found a safe place amongst other survivors (specifically Evan if my epileptic tree holds up, but maybe not). Which can only mean that bad juju is about to go down. A sense of safety never lasts long in the Slenderverse.

Agreed. Steph posting that video is like, well, anybody saying "I love you" in any Joss Whedon series. My money is on HABIT taking over and getting stabby during a tender Steph/Evan moment.

Yeah, that won't end well.

You in danger, gurrl.[/Ghost]

Ironically, though, I fear for both dearly, in their own way. I do hope we get at least a few more videos cementing that bond, though, as opposed to the inference and hinting up til now.

Well...I hate to be post OOG stuff, but this has some humour when you keep in mind Steph has a boyfriend irl.

But it does def seem like Her/Evan is in-story, and that she's gonna be seeing tragedy soon. Actually, that's probably why they have CYSTW active again, to build up into something, erm, not good.

Hey guys, I'd be surprised if this hasn't been found/mentioned before, and I know the videos are only questionably (at best) canon, but I just found out about this book:

http://www.amazon.com/Welcome-Ark-Stephanie-S-Tolan/dp/0380733196

Particularly, this sounds more than a BIT familiar:

Welcome to the Ark wrote:
Grade 6-9?This story is set in the near future at a facility for troubled youngsters in upstate New York. Two boys and two girls, ranging in age from 8-17, have been selected to take part in an experimental program. Living together as a family with two doctors as parental figures, the four highly intelligent young people are encouraged to learn from one another and reach out globally to other potential geniuses via the Internet. They soon recognize a shared concern about the increasing violence in the world and a compelling desire to halt it. Shared paranormal powers amplify the bond among the four and give new meaning to the "world wide web."[...]

Now, it's obviously not anywhere near an exact match, but it's, er... strikingly similar to the situation with MT!4 and Corenthal. Anyone familiar with this text?

It is a pretty odd coincidence, but I don't think it's coincidental enough for it to be intentional. Seems like a crappy 90s YA series capitalizing on the new popularity of the internet.

I don't really understand why everyone seems to think Evan and Steph are romantically together at mo'. It could mean anything really. God knows I post a lot of romantic shit even though I'm not together with anyone.

Now, I could believe that Steph is falling for him and that the feelings are reciprocated (which would be the most adorable! Very Happy) in which case the song makes sense as demonstrating the kind of relationship she wants. But I wouldn't say that they're lovebirds until we hear or see something that explicitly confirms such speculation. And a song with a thoughtful comment is not such a thing.

The play knife-fight picture is cute, but also a bit terrifying. I hope it doesn't foreshadow something.

I think Steph posted love songs before too. It doesn't mean anything.

Preach it. I live in deathly fear of my shows relegating character development and plot to the backseat for the sake of romance. It would be cute, but it would also ruin EMH. This whole discussion has had me on tenterhooks for days.

Romance doesn't have to end character development, not if it's done correctly.

That being said, it's not going to last very long whatever it is.

Yeah, but you aren't a character in an ARG. I suspect that most of what Steph posts means SOMETHING. Whether it means what my (admittedly silly) epileptic tree would suggest is another matter.

I totally get your fear (it's one of my pet peeves as well), but I highly doubt it's going to happen in EMH. I sense something much more sinister at work. They've shown that they're not afraid to tug on the heart strings (Jeff's sad panda stage/Centralia tender couch moment/MySpace Girl entry/etc), but they've never been afraid to follow it with a fist to the solar plexus. Twisted Evil

I agree with Karuvitomsk: this can't last long, and it surely will NOT end well. I don't see how both characters can emerge from this with minds/body parts intact. The question: who's going down, and how?

@Karuvitomsk Good point! Hopefully the blood is going to fly everywhere for this one, regardless of the nature of it. I can't wait. Twisted Evil

@RatheadSyndicate Ha, very true. Probably more my kneejerk reaction talking here than anything else. Weirdly enough, I thought of Jessa upon hearing the song, since she's the only friend Steph ever made, which would line up with the lyrics just a little. (But then I actually listened to the whole song and went "welp, that's a bust.")

@daendil Someone who shares my skittishness! All I can really say is, I hope you guys are right. *twitch*
