I take it back. it works. only you need to divide the thing into small things, just like all those hints said.

I've managed all the hidden seals except the traveler. I thought maybe you had to visit the site and the log out (multiple times). Or maybe time travel (so I changed my computer clock while on the site).

I read the two clues people have given, and after days of trying things I can't seem to figure it out. Can someone give a slightly more explicit hint for the traveler seal?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Think more of actual physical traveling rather than time travel Smile

I've thought this through and through. I've traveled to every page I can find on the site. I thought maybe "walk-through" was a form of travel. So I visited each of the walk-through's. I saw M said he wants people to join him on the journey. Didn't get anything from that. I've tried leaving the site by typing a URL of somewhere else into the browser. I've tried entering the site from somewhere else. I tried visiting every link on the main page. I tried putting in all manner of things that just led me to a 404 page. I've tried modifying the URL's in various ways. Someone suggested that it had to do with "leaving". Well, the only thing that conjures up for me is logging out. I've done that in every way I can think of from everywhere I can think of on the site.

Thanks for the clue, but it just doesn't ring any bells for me. Physical travel to me means not on the web. But I'm not seeing how anything in the real world I can do has to do with TMT.

It appears you meant to hit the REPLY button in this other thread rather than starting a new topic. Perhaps someone could reply over there (or merge the two -- sorry i can't be more help)

Grr. That is a really annoying seal. I actually tried the right thing but it didn't work. In fact I tried it in three places before I got it to work.

Thanks for the hint!

Did you get the Not Found seal? If so

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
You got a 404, but where did you actually want to go?

The next one should give it to you

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It'd be great if there were more pages of something...

If you *really* get stuck

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
You might need to look up how parameters are passed to a web page

Exactly. In retrospect, the one hint that said something to the effect of "simply go straight" was probably the most helpful, but I was misunderstanding WHERE that applied!

Yeah...as a non-tech person, I have absolutely no idea what any of the stuff about parameters means. I found the "not found" seal, and I have tried doing similar things in numerous variations to try to get Hacker, but to no avail. Do you suppose you could give a hint about what's *different* from Not Found? Or how a non-techie would go about thinking about this? Razz

Yeah, it's not complicated or anything. You don't need to know any actual hacking skills (though apparently some law courts have actually convicted people of hacking when they just guess the correct URL -- so apparently don't do this on sites you aren't authorised to).

It's kind of the same as the same as the Not Found except you have to be on one of the pages where the URL already has some funny looking stuff after it.

As a number of people already said:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Modify the URL in a more "logical" way, i.e. don't just put something random in that is guaranteed to give you a 404.

You want to go to the 5th page of Seals or the 3rd page of Theorems

...or something like that. Actually I forget the precise thing I did. If it isn't working for you, try another page where you have stuff to change.

Really explicit spoiler BEWARE

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
At the end of the URL is seals?page=4. Change the 4.

Again, if that doesn't work, try one of the other pages where there is stuff to change.

Okay, um, I just got it, but kind of by accident. I did something, it appeared to not work, I started to do the same thing again because I was going to try a variation, and voila, there was the Hacker seal. ???
