WHEE! This is fun. I just sent in my assignment!
Just FYI I asked them if we can post the pictures to share on our personal websites and the answer was yes so I have my album linked in my sig if you want to take a look at my assignments and comment as fellow members.
Any theories on what's going on with the new post? Personally I have no idea.

I've been out of the ARG scene for a bit, but this looks exciting. New e-mail from infoSPLAT amateurphotographyclub.com:

Attached is a blank crossword puzzle with 13 total clues.
Possibly the names listed in the new blog post?

Well, 1 down is 12 letters. Working by the blog post 2 +TOS, No 1 is Zachary Taylor. There are a number of guesses as to how he died, but one of them that fits is
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Typhoid Fever
Posted it in the blog comments. Anyone else have a different approach?

Although that's not generally how crosswords work (crossword nerd >.<) I came to the same conclusion. It's really the only thing that makes sense.
I made my own crossword in excel to play along at home ;P.

ETA: Apparently you're wrong little prelude and there is a clue on twitter for #7 across
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
#7 across: politician from

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Two new clues: 5 Across Nickname...
11 Down Secretary of..., as well as some seemingly random strings of letters under the contact info for each of the official members
I still am not sure what to do...maybe all of these clues relate to one specific person?

"Eggs everywhere", incl. new dates on APC site bottom (1872-1850). None are solves 'tho so no need to spoiler 'em.
Here's the solve for "platwvwyfwkqsxtdof", Frank's T.O.S blog comment, which leads to John C. Calhoun imo.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Vigenére Cipher using the keyword "crossed". Answer: number two is you rman
ETA: Solves for the APC members' letter strings:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Vigenére Cipher using the keyword "crossed".
For Emma it's 'email her for a clue'. For Brady it's "dm him fora clue". For Anna "email her for a clue". For Sandra it's also "email her for a clue"

Some possible clue solves, through the magic of wikipedia:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
1 Down: Tuberculosis
3 Across: Church Yard
5 Across: Not a clue. All I get is "The great Nullifier", which doesn't seem to fit.

Dang, y'all move fast! Just for the record, I received "gallery" in my confirmation email. Not that you needed it!
I'll have to spend some serious time combing through the sites for this ARG. Looks to be jam packed with info. And I am really looking forward to seeing what everyone does with the first assignment.

Think I've worked out #5 across, working off #11 down
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
General
Lincoln had two Secretaries of War during his administration. The first one was called Simon Cameron. According to a rudimentary Google search, Cameron was nicknamed 'general', which fits into #5 across

Intriguing... got followed as well recently but passed on it thinking it was an auto-follow bot based on photography keywords signed up, waiting for email.
Looking for a storyline... is there one yet?
