"Generations"
Can someone explain this to me?

Since I joined Slender Nation I've heard people talk about the different generations of the Slender Man Mythos. From what I'm hearing theres 4, but I'm not sure.

Can someone explain to me this and each generation's beginning and ending.

It mostly applies to the blogs (which nobody on this forum really seems to care about but that's another story). It's hard to really explain each generation, but the gist of it is:

Gen I: The beginning. Just Another Fool is the main blog here, but there are a few others, like Curious Little Girl, In My Head, In My Mind, etc.

Gen II: Seeking Truth, Dreams in Darkness, The Tutorial, A Lack of Lexicon, and any other blog that went on during this time.

Gen III: Commonly referred to as the Core Theory generation, although I argue that a lot more went on than Core Theory and anyone who says otherwise does not know what they're talking about and are very ill-informed.

Gen IV: This is probably the hardest to define, as I'm not entirely sure when it started, or if it's even still going. It's mostly known as the generation that spawned all those "magic" blogs like Friends and Copper and Chrome.

In a nutshell.

http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=29732 This is a post for all Slender stories. On the last or second to last page there is a link to a list for every single Slender story in existence. If Chase is following it, that means it's a Slender story XD

Does each generation have a sort of 'defining trait' other than when they were started?

Gen I was kinda set-up, the fear factor, more game-and-picture based stuff, standard paint-by-numbers blogging following in the wake of MH and JAF.

Gen II was when blogs started showing more memorable protagonists, more emphasis placed on story-telling than setting up a game, and started having people fight against Slender effects.

Gen III, again, is mainly remembered for Core Theory's rules, and I guess that's what defined it, but again, there was more to it than that.

And Gen IV is just a clusterfuck of magic and Twilight-esque writing.

Gaems- well, do YOU know when Gen IV started then? By all means, expert man, answer.
