I had never realized that this was primarily a written-blog-format description. I always assumed, basing off of the video formats:
One: MH
Two: EMH, TT
Three: the other good ones (AG, DH, cT, etc.)
Four: the terribads and the recently bamf TJA and MLA

EDIT: I had originally designated MLA as "third" gen., but I realized that they might actually be a good "starting point" for the legitimate fourth. Who knows.

Just how I have looked at it. <3

Forgive a newbie, but what is cT? I've watched Angel's Game and DH is Dark Harvest, right? I'll get to that one soon. Watching all the rest.

OH. Yes, I've watched that, too, and subscribed for future vids. Guess that just leaves Dark Harvest and my collection will be complete.

I had two huge posts explaining the generations and their pros and cons on my old site. If you really want to, you can check them out here and here

I lump Dark Harvest (formerly HARK DARVEST and Herc Dervish to me) and MLAndersen0 in together myself, but maybe that's just because they're the two new series I picked up past the big 3. I think they're doing good work.

I have yet to find the time to get into TJ & Amy because I'm busy as hell IRL, but I will soon. I think I'm actually behind again on MLA as of last week, too. Shit.

To be honest I think talking about "Generations" implies far more co-ordination between the blogs and vlogs that actually exists. It's probably easier to think in terms of trends and fashions rather than discrete generations; there'll always be a few early adopters and a few people dragging old fashions out long after everyone else gets sick of them, and not everyone will latch onto every trend which sweeps the blogs. Talking about "generations" tries to fit blogs into kind of arbitrary pigeonholes in a way which isn't actually helpful in picking them apart and seeing how they work.

Pretty sure Generation X didn't co-ordinate when to be born, they just picked up on similar societal influences. Blogs are the same.

Also Angels Game is terribad, I refute it being labelled as part of 'the other good ones'. Generation III began when we lowered our standards because of the influx of shite.
