New user here... hi everyone, just needed to get an account to finally be able to say something.

I am getting that everyone is hung up on evan being the medium and / or bonkers. feeling pity for him or not.

but why is everyone really convinced that he went after jeff with a knife attacking him or doing anything else than having a little gollum outburst on that kitchen table. maybe i am missing something but was that clip one of the ones they could see or one of the hidden video(parts) they could not see.

i was always assuming that they were aware of this happening and if it would have been of concern to any of em (hell mate, it wouldve been of the biggest concerns to me if my mate would go after me with a knife after being all gollum-ish) plus we do not know what has happened after he got up from that table (nor exactly when it has happened (has to happen?)).

what i keep thinking about is the name of the series. it is called everymanHYBRID with HYBRID spelled all HABITish. in the intro video vince said his name is vince everyman - sure sure that was a "joke" they just all labeled themself as everymans. which gives a good lead to the next point:

thinking of HYBRIDs what came to my mind first was hybrid vehicles using more than on source of power. looking up wikipedia it also referres to mythology in this manner:

Nice post. That really reinforces the theory that HABIT can leap from body to body. While I'm still holding out that HABIT is a collective consciousness, the leaping theory seems more likely.

I like your thought process. I haven't really thought about the first few episodes in a while, but it looks like you got something useful out of 'em.

It stands to reason that HABIT can jump hosts, whether what he's been saying is mostly bravado or not. But I'm sure there's some other piece to this we're missing.

Is it possible that HABIT can only remain in certain hosts for short amounts of time and Evan is the primary vessel? So, he can jump to Steph to leave a threatening message, but quickly has to jump back to Evan to keep from losing control completely.

I was also toying with the idea that HABIT is the one turning up the paranoia dial on Evan's emotions to weaken him enough to gain complete control for some purpose undetermined. If HABIT cuts off Evan's ties with other people I'm sure that would weaken Evan's mental resolve, as he appears to be a bit of an extrovert. Killing Steph would assist in that.

Also, if HABIT is actually antagonistic against Slender Man killing Steph would also be advisable as it seemed for a while that she may be an agent of Slender Man.

That there are still two trials missing, and that HABIT is obviously active again is exciting.

Also, as a note, I'm not buying that HABIT had anything to do with Gein. That's just silly. HABIT as a part of a collective mass of demons, one of which controlled Gein makes sense, but in my opinion HABIT him/itself is part of EMH alone.

We've speculated in the past that HABIT is a big liar, bragging about doing things and being people in a historical context that he hasn't - like most traditional demons in fiction, a braggart. But it's possible he could be telling the truth. I've tried to poke the bear and discover the dimensions, so to speak, of who and what HABIT is and where he came from and how as per the connection to Centralia Evan, but he's never replied to me.

You know what stuck with me about the CYSTW HABIT post? Not that HABIT was taking credit for Gein's crimes, but that the video REPEATEDLY MENTIONED how apparently meek and harmless Gein had seemed. It's the last line of the video, even. I gotta wonder if this is more than just HABIT being crude and transgressive. What are the chances that Evan is a red herring? That we've all been looking at the guy with the knives and the short fuse, the most conspicuous suspect, and we're forgetting to look at the "5'5'' farmer who could never hurt anybody?"

Now, question is, who's our 5'5'' farmer?
