Freya: I know, right?? Why at night? That's just begging for trouble! Has the boy never seen a movie in his life? And overall, we as viewers have seemed to have a better handle on this situation than Jay ever has. We're the ones who solve all the puzzles and give him the answers (a bit more so in the past than recently, but still). And he never figured out that Masky was Tim (at least, not that he ever told us). I mean, really! He knew Tim personally, he should have called that one. Rolling Eyes

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
**gasp** Slenderdoll, of course! IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW.

Especially when he saw those sideburns. I mean, come on...

And he keeps going to these places alone! When he was on the run from TTA/Masky/Slendy I could understand it, but does Jay seriously not have enough friends that he couldn't ask one to go check out his friend's house with him?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Slenderdoll's been the mastermind behind the whole thing! It's responsible for the warps and for summoning Slendy! IT TOOK THE BULLET CASING AND KNOCKED OUT JAY. *cough* Incredible, right?

I'm throwing out one last pro toward Seth being TTA that still hasnt been brought up. Two of the responses (from Season 1 even!) have that S-watermark in the corner. I mean come on! Cryptic monograms!

It's a symbol for the greek letter sigma (and/or stigma), not a S.

This. According to Wikipedia though, it only makes the familiar S shape when lowercase and in the word-final position. Don't know if that's significant, but there you go.

Many people have brought up Occam's Razor in regards to TTA. But why must we assume that the answer has to be simple and obvious for one of the most important unresolved plot points in the series?

If we're going to follow Occam's razor, we need to remember that it suggests, given what is already known, the hypothesis that makes the fewest new assumptions is the most likely. (Occam's razor is not a theory in itself, but a method of formulating thought.)

It doesn't say "the fewest new assumptions, except when we think it would be cooler."

@Randoman96 & sjhartsfield: Sigma is the letter S.

Perhaps, but it was actually a Stigma. Not a sigma. They are very close though.

That's why I said both, I'm not good at greek letters and they looked the same. Embarassed

Oh sure, and generally I agree with that line of thinking. What I'm saying is that "fewest new assumptions" points to a simpler and more obvious answer, one that is easy to see, one that requires the least amount of defending.

And... should I be spoilering all OOG references in this thread? Sometimes the rules are lax and sometimes not...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
So while I agree with the premise in real life, I don't think it necessarily makes for good storytelling. The identity of TTA is a huge mystery and pivotal plot-point. I think the answer doesn't need to be the one that requires the fewest assumptions - it could in fact be anything the creators thought would be cool.

But I don't at all disparage anyone who applies Occam's Razor to their theories. It's all a matter of what makes the most sense to you.

Was this confirmed somewhere? Word-terminal sigma and the stigma ligature are nearly impossible to tell apart by the untrained eye.

@YamaKami: I'm not denying that point. I'm just pointing it out, because if we're going to stick with Occam's razor theories, we need to be consistent in its application. I may be guilty of forgetting it myself, in the past.

People talking about TTA as Tim being a cop out but really any aspect of this series is up to them and I'm pretty sure they'd make it to what they want.

Here's what I'd like to say on this:

Tim
I'm pretty sure TTA isn't Tim. TTA seems to be helping Jay in some wacky way, while Tim seems to be trying to remove Jay from the equation.

The Operator
Using the same theory I used for Tim, as well as the tech issue WhyYouBawwing pointed out to me, The Operator also seems unlikely.

Jay
It's nigh-impossible for Jay to be TTA, as TTA posts things Jay doesn't even know, as well as the fact that TTA snuck up on Jay when he was sleeping.

Amy
I am led to believe that Amy only appears in Entry #26. A minor role as the camera(wo)man. Like randomman pointed out, it's unlikely that TTA is a minor role character. As such, I'm going to ignore Sarah, who we saw in Entry #9, putting her in the same group as Amy.

Seth
Seth hasn't been seen in Season 2 as far as I know. This alone causes me to think that he is, indeed, one one of three possible TTA's.

Jessica
Jessica seemed to be as distraught about it as Jay was, and is obviously involved somehow... Jessica is the second of three possible TTA's as far as I can tell.

Alex
The reason Alex is the third and most likely possible TTA is the lack of evidence pointing against it, as well as evidence pointing towards it. How did he know Tim was in the house in Entry #35? How come both TTA and Alex can easily track him, as said in entry #36? I may be over-observing here, but what Alex says to Jay in Entry #38 is, to me, similar to what TTA does in his videos. Alex was missing in Entry #40. Could it be that Alex was actually there the whole time, watching?

You don't know for a fact that that's the case. Stigma is still S shaped anyway.

I've said it before, and perhaps I've missed people responding, but... why do people think TTA is helping Jay? I thought it in season 1, but then in one TTA vid of season 2, the reversed audio says "enjoying watching you suffer". That doesn't sound very helpful to me.

Because while the simplest answer is that it was directed at Jay, we have no proof. For all we know, he is saying that to the operator.
