That clip, well if it is the one they posted below in the article, has already been unlocked.

That clip, well if it is the one they posted below in the article, has already been unlocked.

The clip (#65) wasn't embedded in their article when I posted. They have re-hashed a story from April 20th (when the clip was unlocked). Probably because the writer was at the Bad Robot HQ screening last night (check out Joel's site for pics http://JoelCourtney.com) and isn't allowed to post any other details but felt the urge to say something. "That's totally mint, dude." indicates some sort of inside knowledge to me.

A tweet by @LATherocomplex "That's totally mint, dude." was RT'd by Damon Lindelof last night with the following text added by himself "I know of what you speak and concur absolutely"
https://twitter.com/#!/DamonLindelof/status/72177497260826624

Which was then RT'd by @tamarlovesu who works for Paramount with the following text added "Do not speak of this!"
https://twitter.com/#!/tamarlovesu/status/72210573588316160

I kind of went off track there, but to summarise, yeah, nothing new to see here, please move along.

Recreating the creature's natural habitat would mean that Minker Sr. was part of the team that captured it, if that's what they did. Two questions pop up in my mind when I think of this:

1. If this thing lives in caves, why would it be attracted to electricity, or steal electrical equipment to "put its ship back together," if that is indeed the case?

2. Is it possible that Minker Sr. was in direct contact with the creature and knew something about it that the others didn't, thus triggering his motives to kill/free it?

What I'm thinking is that the creature (or its descendants) have lived in a cave, with their cubes/ship. They were maybe stranded, and they had to steal things to try and activate the cubes/ship and get it off of the ground. After the government captured the creature, they seized the cubes, and are looking into them as some sort of energy source. The creature is pissed, and thus it wants to gather all of the cubes back and do its best to try and get back home.

Blue Marks

Hey guys, I've been following Super 8 for a while, but I've never posted on the boards before. Finally, I found something I hadn't seen mentioned and I had to make a post.

I hope no one's already mentioned this, but I did a search and found nothing, so forgive me if this is a repeat post.

Go to the editing room, and take a look at the film strips when they're hung up on the hooks, before you play the footage. In certain frames, you can make out odd blue marks on certain frames. They don't appear in every frame, and they disappear when a marked frame comes directly over the projector's light. When you play the footage, these marks are nowhere to be found. This could easily be nothing, but there's always a possibility it could mean something.

For example, if you go to Clip 14, and look at the army official sitting at the desk, some frames have a very visible round blue mark in the center of his forehead. These marks continue erratically throughout the clips. Anyone have an idea if this is a clue, something to be examined, or nothing at all?

I believe this is how super 8 film acts when you look from specific angle. You can look on negative from some old camera - BW. And it is blue because of the process used to develop the film.

It's just a film negative effect being used by the flash program.

funny thing is

Altho a super 8 camera would record in negative, you would edit and play "prints" which are positive.

Okay guys i got Clip #78, it confirms the theory of "the subjects most likely natural habitat"
It then goes on to saying "a subterranean dwelling"

Meaning underground!!

So the clips now say
Quote:
...cage 3 was constructed to reproduce the subjects most likely natural habitat, a subterranean dwelling. Several of its biological..

LOL Jane, we're on to them!!!!

Also if anyone wants to see the clip, i suggest repeating the same buttons (in a different sequence) as done previously
This can work on all iPod touch interface devices.

Rats almost had it right, lol.

Sounds like our creature is nocturnal, which (if the trailers have anything to say) could be why these attacks are happening at night?
