MCMXLVII = 1947

Why 1947?


1947 A.D. WITH THE EXTRATERRESTRIAL CRASH IN ROSWELL, NEW MEXICO, UFOLOGY IS BORN. STRONG EVIDENCE OF EXTRATERRESTRIAL LIFE BEGINS.

 		Sorry Rocket Bob, the 1947 refers to the National Security Act of 1947 which created the US Air Force as a separate service branch in the National Military Establishment (Later named the DOD). Previously they were part of the US Army known as the Army Air Corps.
