Snooping around the .swf file I found this "package fortytwo".

Could be nothing because I'm still new at this decompiling flash files, but I think it points to 42E.

Also, Wrigley and 5Gum could be a sponsor partner for TDKR viral. I know all that swag can't be cheap, and though it takes away from the mystique of an ARG, it may be necessary to help with cost for WB and 42E.
But then again, it could just be a viral for 5Gum put on by 42E and have absolutely nothing to do with TDKR.

the dkn viral has already started, sorta

and no, the badges were not used at SDCC. I had mine and they wrote down my id number, but i didnt need it to get the swag, or get in to the End of Line club (which was epic i might add)

just a thought, but they may be doing the id for some kind of launch event. Maybe a party or something like that.

Or more likely, on launch day of the gum or item, show your id badge to a person at certian stores and get a free pack.

I hope its deeper than that.

I was disappointed with the Encom badges given as part of the flynn lives. They werent used for anything, other than getting an employee login.

They were used for something at SDCC, too, weren't they? Or some other con, anyway. Maybe these will get some use during then, like to get into a party, and then maybe The Dark Knight Rises viral will start after that (it's weird it was seemingly only in DC -- has anyone checked any Marvel comics for the ad?)

I want a DKR viral so badly so I'll just keep believing this even if it's wrong, lol. Still kicking myself for missing TDK.
While I didn't check every Marvel released today I picked up a couple first day Marvels today too. No gum adds, and they seem to share a lot of the same sponsors, which partially feeds my suspicions. I'd like to see if this ad popped up in any magazines or anything. Like if this winds up in like Everyday With Rachel Ray or whatevs, I may be a little less convinced this has something to do with something other than gum, but so far what we have is a 42e arg spotted exactly when we are expecting one for TDKR popping up for gum in DC comics of all places. Something is fishy.

Course the proof is in the pudding. Once we get whatever is coming to us, I'm sure it will be more clear in one direction or another.

I stumbled across this thread when searching for more information. I came by the testsubjectsneeded.com because there was a full page dedicated to nothing but a qr code in my Seattle Weekly magazine. I scanned the code and was taken to the site.
When reading scepticism that this might be for gum, I was a little disappointed, but I guess we just wait and see?! Smile

Not sure what to think of this. Takes some steam out of my DC rant, but at the same time, a QR code only? Was there any sort of ad attached to it or was it just a QR code?

The Encom ID badges from Flynn Lives were used during Wondercon. I think it is cool that 42e sent badges to everyone, not just those who said they might be attending the con.

The Operation Tron "Encom Press Conference" live event had
  • giveaways (posters, recognizer pins)
  • a live stunt (a parachute landing)
  • a celebrity (Bruce Boxleitner appeared in person to deliver an in character speech as Alan Bradley).
I had a blast watching a live feed of the event, put up by Hazado.

Hopefully the battery will last the entire conference.
ARGn article about Operation Tron

This "Human Preservation Project" has piqued my interest. I see loads of potential here.

42 Entertainment CONFIRMED!

Seattleweekly.com has an Ad Index. The QR code is there and is labeled "42 Entertainment Ad"

Direct Link

And I don't see anything to do with 5Gum...

Yep, the QR code leads to http://testsubjectsneeded.com/unknown (which redirects to the home page)

So still the only place linking the viral to gum is adspace in DC.

Eeeeeeeeeeenteresting.

I went through the mobile site, and answered the questions (it was a slightly different format from the flash version on the main site.)

at the end, a video clip was downloaded to my phone. transferred from phone to computer and slapped on youtube.

Yep, that's the video in full that you see portions of during the full/non-mobile web questionnaire. Nothing new, but nice that it's downloadable Smile

ETA:
Mobile site: http://testsubjectsneeded.com/m/
Video: http://testsubjectsneeded.com/media/MOBILE480.mp4

It should also be noted that the React2 5 Gum commercials portray 'test subjects' being exposed to some experiment, the tagline being that everyone experiences it differently (they each see different shapes in the crazy swirling bubble clouds Smile )

And this image from the mobile site makes me wonder if there will be indeed be some story-type content to this... who is this man? stock photo? Or is it really just a random photo for the context of the emotional response questions? hm.

Hmm, yeah so now with that and the above info, the gum thing is starting to seem like the definite topic. Awesome of them to launch this when they did... Oh well. Free gum?

On the actual paper ad that was in the Seattle Weekly paper, there is absolutely nothing else printed. No mention of 42 Entertainment, OR gum. Smile

But, as posted above, the online ad from the Seattle Weekly did give confirmation of 42E! Smile

But, I am still intrigued, and ready for more information! Looking forward to the badge and information by mail. I wonder if it will include some gum!?

The link above, going to a question posted does seem to almost confirm that it is all gum related.
