In Memoriam

If I may, a few words in honor of a lost friend.

Dude, that reminds me of a story. As many of you know, I live in dairyland hell AKA Central Indiana. About two months ago I was visiting a friend of mine who lives waaaaaaaay out in the country, and having a conversation with her uncle who happens to be a dairy farmer. I asked him about his typical day, to which he replied:

"Well, I'm usually up at about an hour before the break of dawn, because if you don't milk the cows at exactly the same time each day it disrupts their circadian glandular rhythms, and the lactose content of their milk is screwed up as a result making it highly acidic. So we have a little ritual we engage in every morning, where we make our way out to the barn while the cows are still asleep and stand there warming our hands and setting up the milking stands and teat-pullers and filling cups for a half hour or so until Bessie's eyes creak open for the very first time."

"And then what?", I asked, duly enthralled by the sheer 4-H'itude of it all.

He smirked, waited a beat, and said: "And then, the creaming started."

Shocked Twisted Evil
