Posts by Greenburg if you've been looking at the forums.

@Seadevil I'm pretty sure he says "Ignore the infection" because the "g" is drawn the same way as in the sentence "I fell like i'm dreaming" with the "g" curved like the other one. I could be mistaken though.

This email is reply from my msg with the satellite codes:

Quote:
Thankyou Seadevil - as always it's much appreciated. We have gotten the same 3 code sequences, and those are indeed exactly what we need.

What about the parts which we perceived as possibly being memories, or thoughts, from the brains past? They are all accompanied by ages? Did you receive any of these, and if so... what did they say? I am attempting to put together a list of these, hoping perhaps they may hold some overall purpose.

Also I noticed that both Thrie and myself received different messages when the starscape on interdimensionalgames.com was played with by the device. The messages that displayed when each of the erroneous stars were accessed, including dates way in the future? Did you happen to catch what any of yours said? This was one event that was unfortunately not recorded for playback by iDGi-1.

I think maybe you'll agree that we need to be careful with Greenberg moving forward, we need to ensure that he's happy enough with us to keep giving us more access. Not only that but I think he's becoming pretty unstable and that could turn on us pretty quickly.

We have actually been learning quite a few things since Greenberg did whatever he did to iDGi-1. So far it's all been within perfectly normal safety perimeters, but he definitely took some serious liberties when it came to taking almost direct control over certain parts of the satellite. I'm formulating a forum post for Greenberg and everyone else with more details on this.

Speaking of which, I don't entirely trust this Greenberg no matter how good his intentions seem to be. I don't plan on giving him any real information about what is going on with his device, nor tell him that we are receiving the satellite codes we need. I would suggest you do the same.

It would have been nice of him to at least ask me first before directing that device of his at my satellite. Maybe hive me a little information on what to expect! With the government breathing down my neck and everything going on with that, this could prove to put us over the edge with them!

-V

Right nobody tell Greenberg anything useful, misinformation only.

Cherrytree you are probably right.

Hmm if he's serious about us getting the messages that popped up through the games, I guess we can give him this :

Code:

Brain 1 :

Age 12:
Courtney climbs trees like some kind of mountain lion. I'm going to marry that girl someday!

Age 39:
What the hell is hemachromatosis? He's saying that it's hereditary? Oh Jesus, not Kiera**

Age 40:
I feel sick. How is it possible I passed something like this on to my daughter without knowing? If she has it too then I have to do something. I have to find a way to make it easier for her than it was for me...

Brain 2 :

Age 27:
This can't be happening. This can't be happening. God, why couldn't you have taken me? It's MY FAULT GOD DAMN IT! Oh Annie, what have I done?

Age 27:
Never walk again? Who cares?! My sister's dead and it's my fault. Never walk again - I don't deserve to ever breath again.

Age 27:
Mother's really letting Annie visit? I guess she has no reason not to now that Father's gone. I can't wait to take her out, show her what she's been missing out on all these years!

Brain 3 :

Age 35:
I am on a roll; the world cannot keep me down I've still got some luck left

Age 21:
Traded? Traded to our nemesis? I guess anyone can be traded...

Age 8:
I've decided. I'm going to become a professional hockey player and play in the Olympics for Team Canada!

Brain 4 :

Age 26:
I guess I'm a little tempted to go to the party, if only to be included in their stories and inside jokes. But these American girls are always so arrogant. I wonder if Fengie is arrogant?

Age 18:
Fengie Bashar. The name of the girl I'm going to marry is Fengie Bashar. This picture mother gave me is just lovely. She smiles well and she has very pretty teeth.

Age 24:
I hope Father can wire me some money for a new winter coat. I knew it would be cold here, but this winter has been insane!

Brain 5 :

Age 24:
I actually got in? I'm not terminally ill... does this mean... I have to die to live forever? Will I feel anything when I'm on the inside?

Age 11:
Someday, we'll be rich and powerful enough to have it all! We'll do it together, Ace!

Age 17:
Ace! We counted the cards perfectly and we're still down and out! How could this happen?

Brain 6 :

Age 46:
All he does all day is play video games! I can't believe he dropped out of high school! Why can't he be more like his sister?

Age 7:
I love the beach! Someday I hope I get married to a prince on this beach and live happily ever after!

Age 71:
The cancer is spreading... I don't have much longer to live. Where are you, Raymond?

Brain 7 :

Age 30:
Who do these noobs think they are? I bet they're a bunch of stupid spoiled little kids!

Age 31:
Disgusting. My mother made me spaghetti again. Doesn't she know I hate spaghetti? What a worthless woman.

Age 35:
They think I stole the money from the retirement fund? I only ever used their credit cards for junk food and online subscriptions... I'm being framed!

Brain 8 :

Age 8:
1 ,2 ,3 ,4! 4 seconds between thunder claps! The storm is getting closer! I hope it's a hurricane. We could stay huddled up in the basement under blankets with candles burning all night! It would be so cool...

Age 31:
The test came back positive - I can't wait to tell David I'm having his baby!

Age 14:
I've never been more certain of anything in my life - everything has been leading up to this moment, when I would meet him - David Cameron. It feels so cosmic and right.

Brain 9 :

Age 17:
Oh my god ; will that cat never shut up? How am I supposed to get a full days work in tomorrow if I can't get any sleep? Hey, wait a second, I think I have an idea...

Age 5:
Fat little froggy, don't jump away! He's slimy, cold and bumpy. Into the bucket you go... I'll put this piece of plastic on top so you won't jump out. There, now I have a pet!

Age 18:
...loud voices screaming at me to get down on my knees and put my hands over my head. What happened? I have the right to remain silent? Of course I do, what a strange thing to say...

Brain 10 :

Age 13:
I got stung by a bee! What if everyone finds out I got stung and became pregnant? What should I do?

Age 18:
The Purple Fluff Cult? Dancing naked under the moon? How come Stephanie doesn't see that I'm far too shy for that...

Age 27:
Some rock stars get pet snakes. Well I've got a pet bear! Come, Misha! Let's go for a walk in the forest!

Brain 11 :

Age 29:
I wonder if they'll miss me much? I don't think I'll miss them. We never really talked directly. I'll miss the maid, I think. Josefina was always kind to me and was never afraid to smack me when I deserved it.

Age 30:
I had no idea it got so cold at night in New Orleans. I don't think I've ever spent a full night outside in my life.

Age 14:
They really expect me to focus on chemistry when my tutor has a pair of tits like that? Ha, yeah right! It's no wonder I'm flunking.

Brain 12 :

Age 13:
Xixi makes me so angry sometimes! I told her I wanted to be a cheerleader and she just laughed at me and said all cheerleaders were airheads! I'm not telling her anything anymore.

Age 30:
Pregnant. I can't believe I'm pregnant. We've only been going out for 3 months... I wonder how he'll react?

Age 29:
I love how delicate his hands are when he's slicing tomatoes! He measures each slice so perfect and even... and presses so lightly on the skin before he lets the blade sink in... God, he's so perfect!

Brain 13 :

Age 29:
I hardly recognize myself... I can't believe a little time behind bars and the Headway Meetings have made this much of a difference in my life!

Age 22:
Where am I? I don't remember how I got here... My ass hurts... I need a fix bad...

Age 15:
So this is what America is like... The buildings here are so tall...

Brain 14 :

Age 5:
Mommy! There's water in the shower!

Age 6:
Come play singing game with me!

Age 7:
Oh my god! I broke my chair again! I'm sorry Mr. Chair!

Brain 15 :

Brain 16 :

Age 10:
I'm not in my closet, why does Uncle Jack keep saying I'm in the closet? I'm in my room

Age 21:
I always get the pin. I pitch but I certainly don't catch.

Age 17:
The principal is so stupid. Doesn't he understand that I'm a girl and should be using the girls' washroom? I don't see how my body parts matter in this

Brain 17 :

Brain 18 :

Brain 19 :

Age 9:
What do you mean you can't just buy me a girl and a giant robot? I want it! You said I could have anything I wanted!

Age 7:
Yes my son, you can have anything you want. I expect you to be a great man some day.

Age 10:
I would be so good at football if I had robot legs. I would kick so hard I'd make the ball go right through the goalie!

Brain 20 :

Age 15:
Why do we need a piece of paper to tell us this land belongs to us? That just seems stupid.

Age 23:
I guess the ghost-sickness really was just superstition after all. On one hand, I'm relieved. Now that I know what it is, I can treat it and get better. On the other hand it seemed almost easier to entrust my health to lost souls. I almost believed it was true. Almost.

Age 6:
I can't breathe ! I can't breathe ! someone help me! I can't speak, I can't even cry. Am I dead? What's happening to me? I can't move my arms or legs. Oh god, oh god, oh god...

Brain 21 :

how did you find the memories for brains other than the first three? The only way I could find to read memories was by collecting those green squares.

LoL Minz, how the heck did you do that? very nice =) I guess I'll list the thoughts I got for the first three.

"brain 1"
age 9: Two of them! Right off the side of the road, sneaking into the forest. I'm not crazy – they were right there!
age 19: It was like this bolt of lightning came out of nowhere and blew my shoulder right out. It hurts so bad. I hope I can still pitch for tomorrow's game. Coach says there will be scouts there and everything...
age 29: Just take a deep breath, get down on one knee, and ask her...

"brain 2"
age 26: So the Old Man's really gone. I guess I should feel regret... or something...
age 56 (I think it's 56!): It's sad to see mother like this. I thought she'd never come and see me… not after Annie. At least her and Kathy seem to be getting along.
age 58: Kathleen, you'll never know just how much you mean to me. You say I saved your life, but really you saved mine. God bless you...

"brain 3"
age 18: First overall? I was picked first overall? It's a dream come true! I'm going to play in the NHL!
age 24: Yes! I've been selected to Team Canada! It's a dream come true! We're going to win the gold medal for sure!
age 33: Paralyzed... my career is over. My life is over...

It looks like all of mine are different that what you have. I sent these to Vidal as well. why does your brain two all come up as age 27?

As you know, I am not a big fan of how the data from the iDGi site is stored locally on a computer. Primarily because a browser with secure settings will delete those files after closing it.

After inspecting the file where all our progress is stored, i found that the file had also kept pretty accurate logs of all of the green text files that I had collected during the challenge.
(I did this mainly to find a good way of porting my progress between my computers and to be able to restore my progress after closing my browser)

On the bright side, i should now be able to backup and restore my progress in the game regardless of my browser settings Very Happy
(access to the file also provides various other "possibilities" which I won't be exploiting though as I want to play the game the way its meant to be played)

It most probably only registered the sentences that correspond to the files I caught. There might be more for each brain as i think that they are randomly distributed through the game. The file from which I copied my logs also had assigned a number from 1 to 27 to the "thoughts", which is how i differentiated the brains

Hey, this is rather unrelated to the current discussion, but I, in my perpetual frequent goofing around, discovered this: https://www.facebook.com/pages/iDGi-1/362262030662

The satellite has a Facebook page! While this may very well just be a joke of some sort (so far there have been no wall posts), you never know, information of some sort might someday show up here. I decided I'd share it with you guys just to be safe.

Excellent, thank you sir!

Those numbers match with what we've been given so far and what we've received ourselves. Those satellite coordinates are exactly what we need to get us back to the other side - we just need 17 more of them. They also match what was given to us already through the first four Unknown Transmissions we received, before we think Malcolm cut them off. Let's hope that Malcolm doesn't cut these off.

I asked Seadevil the same questions, but: What about the parts which we perceived as possibly being memories, or thoughts, from the brains past? They are all accompanied by ages? Did you receive any of these, and if so... what did they say? I am attempting to put together a list of these, hoping perhaps they may hold some overall purpose.

Any help with these would be greatly appreciated!

Just thought I might add mine since it was a little different in content.

These are the one's I have from the memories posted on the thread. If anyone wants to add please post yours.

I didn't add the others because we haven't gotten them yet in the game.

Two more things on the device
1. On the restart the computer screen (I'm sure everyone noticed this.) it says "Hello Seeker" near the bottom"
2. Also before you enter the game when you hover over the triangle i'm pretty sure it says "play me once" That could be a wrong taking of the corrupted words.

Just stating what hasn't been stated, but probably is obvious.

I seem to have hit a bit of a snag. I'm completely stuck on the the first brain. You're supposed to put pieces on the path of red arrows, right? There's not enough time unless I get 3 memories but I rarely get 2. Hmmm, maybe I'll try on a different computer. Anyway, I got some memories that haven't been said yet so:

Brain 1

If you risk running out of time, destroy some of the viruses, that'll give you time back. If there are only 4-5 spots left to fill use the first bonus so the virus stops for some time and place the last ones.
Thats how I did it.

On a second playthroug I did on another computer i also noticed that now there were 4 or 5 green dots (brains) whereas yesterday there were only three.
So it seems that either the infection regresses with each one of us who passes the security challenge or it just takes some time.
I strongly suspect that the first theory is accurate though and there needs to be a certain number of people who have completed the game for us to be able to progress.

If anyone who hasnt played the first part wants to join in and doesn't know what to do, just ask!
If there are enough new participants I might even write a small walkthrough on how to get to the start of part 2

Hey, I have four different computers floating around my house, one of which is a dual boot, so, in a little while, I'll reboot into my other OS, which I haven't used with this game yet, and work my way up to episode 2. If I also see more than three green dots, then I'll consider your theory to be true and continue to play through on the other three systems.
I'll also be keeping note of the jumbled text that comes up with the stars, as V seems to have an interest in collecting it.

For anybody who doesn't have five different bootable OSes, but still wishes to play through more than once, you can just use a Linux live CD (preferably one with Flash already installed, as to avoid the hassle of installing it every time) and keep rebooting, playing through the game anew each time.

Also, I still haven't analyzed all of the second audio file yet, so keep an eye on my previous post for when I eventually do. EDIT: Ok, done with that.

Yes, the PM's also seem to have corrected that mistake and in newer versions of the "savefile" the messages from other brains are not included anymore.
I triend getting some more messages by prolonging the rounds and collecting as many "notes" as possible during the game, but i dont think there are many more to add. I'll compare the ones i got this time to everyone elses tomorrow.

Furthermore i have done a bit of word on Vidal's second request :

Quote:

For now i've only taken screenshots and not transcribed them as i'm about to go to sleep Razz
There are 8 screenshots in the attached zip that contain the messages from all the stars I managed to access so far. There may be many more but you will have to wait until they slide into view, and since you can only click three before you reload the page finding the rest might take some time.

I've also been watching the nodes again on yet another playthrough of the virus challenge and this time there was only one green node during my play, however when I completed the game and the last animation before the end-screen with the frequencies played there were 4 green nodes.

We might have to try what happens when more people play the game at the same time, maybe we need to occupy all of the nodes simultaneously?

On the frequency screen I noticed that 2 of the 3 frequency Icons were glowing. This might indicate that those have already been calibrated or it might just be a display error.

Last but not least i found that on the left of our virus game field, there was a message in projectb6 script that suddenly had more symbols than in my first screenshots.
I didn't try to decode it yet but if anyone wants to have a go at it before tomorrow, take look at the screenshot I attached Wink
Edit: just thinking about it, as there are no repeated symbols, the "text" might not really mean anything xD

As for the green nodes, I just did another play-through of the game, and the nodes only had four green right after I completed the third level. I think this is meant to imply that the program is attempting to move on to the fourth brain but gets pulled out. Remember when Greenburg said that he only gave us access to the first few brains, and he'd need to be sure that the device was working properly before he'd give us access to more. Since we know from level one that the counter includes the level we're on, I'd say that's what that is.

Because of this, I won't be taking the time out of my day to play through the game three more times, as I don't think it'll make any difference. Although, I was meaning to get my Ubuntu installation caught up to where I was on Windows anyway, so I have no regrets on doing it all a second time.

EDIT: Ohhhhh, those messages! I was wondering what he meant by that! It never occurred to me to look at the scrolling text. I was just looking at the scrambled text that comes up in the object report box after clicking each star. (Which, BTW, was the same for each star, and had the message "HELP ME" intermixed with the symbols multiple times.)

If you risk running out of time, destroy some of the viruses, that'll give you time back.

I tried but that doesn't help enough. You get one second for each virus but it takes ten before you can put down another piece. I did find something else though. As I was watching the new intro I caught a glimpse of this guy looking back at me.
