Hah, the Andersen Journals booted MH out of my third position long ago. I would say they're about number 1 now, though it's a tie between AJ and TT.

I very, VERY much doubt that the alternate personality is Slender Man. He's far too urbane and witty.

His middle name is Lukas, though. Michael Lukas Andersen.

I like the Patrick Bateman theory myself, though the timeline doesn't quite match up perfectly.

In real-life cases of disassociative personality disorder, people have been said to simply borrow a name that seems to fit, rather than adopting one of personal significance. If I had to guess, I'd say that IG, that's the situation, and OOG, it's an homage to American Psycho.

I'm personally not a big fan of the twin theory.

But lets say there were twins Patrick (the evil one) and Michael and one died.

What if Patrick killed Michael but was already good at pretending to be Michael at a young age and has been fooling everyone ever since.

It's not a twin. "Patrick" explicitly says that the things he does, Michael doesn't remember. Not doesn't know - doesn't remember. That to me indicates something overtaking the core personality.

I'm considering getting in touch with MLAndersen - or whichever of the characters it is who will be answering their email from now on. I don't know their policy on interaction but I know people have spoken to Michael before. Patrick seems outgoing and gregarious. Maybe he likes to talk.

So, this has almost certainly almost been brought up, but it's way late, and I need to hit the sack, so I don't have time to read through the old pages.

The alternate personality, whether it's Slender Man or some other entity or even just Michael's 'Evil' side, said that it can 'turn it on and off, just like that' when referring to his fake Michael. But what if it was all fake? What if everything, since the first video, was an act by this personality, to manipulate Shaun and Eric? I mean, obviously this guy is a master manipulator, so I wouldn't put it past him.

And on the subject of him being a master manipulator, what would be the point of him posting this? Obviously he has a goal behind it.
