[SPEC] Program and Advocate Responses
Decoding the 'S'

Upon much speculation as to what the little 'S' symbol in either corner of each video was, (Program, and Advocate), my friend was at first certain that the symbol was not a crudely-drawn 'S' at all, but the symbol for Sigma, one of the Greek letters. However, upon further investigation of what Sigma could possibly mean, we discovered one of the 'other', as Wikipedia likes to call it, Greek letters; the Stigma. There is a very subtle difference in how each of these letters is drawn, but the slight up-turned curve of the symbol seen in each of these videos is consistent with the letter Stigma. (Http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stigma_(letter) [Sorry, it wouldn't let me link to the Wiki directly.])
Of all the chaotic "math speak," the very last of the page effectively dictates Stigma to mean '6'. The significance of the number 6, to the best of our speculation, would be the original 6 people involved in the filming of Marble Hornets: Alex, Tim, Jay, Brian, Seth, and Sarah.
Though we only really see Sarah once or twice, she's allegedly in the car during Entry 7 (Entry 7), and is the most likely candidate for the female voice heard (softly, at best), and described by Jay as being the female off camera. (Not for certain, but she IS the only known female cast member of Marble Hornets.)
At the time each response was posted, there were really only 6 people involved in the entire Operator scenario. (Now, we have a few more involved, such as Jessica and Amy, but this also explains why the Stigma symbol has not shown up in any response since, to our knowledge.)

Any further thoughts on the subject would be greatly enjoyed, and spotting something on the topic that we may have missed would be greatly appreciated.

I've always wondered if the scrolling underneath the word "Regards" at the end of the Warning video (link) was actually that character you're discussing here. It could just be TTA's attempt at being fancy, but because of its size it does look like another S-shaped character to me.

I hate to be that guy, but this doesn't merit its own thread. We talked at length about the stigma and other cryptic goodness in "TTA: Missed Connections". You might want to hop over there.

Oh my god shut the hell up, this can have its own thread!
It's discussion of a single element from the video, if you attempt to discuss in the videos own thread the discussion will eventually die and the topic will be buried.

I swear, some of you people are just posting "Dis dun belong hurr" on purpose so you can kiss ass to the mods or something.

I'm going to have to go with Raj39 here, the S was pretty extensively discussed in both the threads for the entries and in TTA: missing connections. Pretty sure by now everyone gets that it can be interpreted as sigma/stigma

No, the motivation behind keeping discussion related to a single video in the thread for that video is so that there can be a single place to look for information and speculation for that specific video.

(Repetitiveness of previous sentence was intentional.)

I understand that, but when it happens on every single new thread is when theres a problem.

I understand wanting to keep things about a specific video to a certain thread, however, as obvious by my post count, I'm extraordinarily new to the forum. I'm also not posting about a video, but a specific element of more than one video.
I do appreciate the nudge in the right direction, though, so thank you for that piece of advice. Being 'that guy' doesn't mean saying that it was already discussed, but saying that my subject of interest isn't formidable a subject enough to have it's own thread seems a tad elitist, if you ask me. I never really understood the point of moderating how many threads on a specific subject there were, really.

Seriously! This guy clearly thought over the validity of his thread before even posting it.

It doesn't matter anyways, as soon as someone is "That Guy" the whole thread turns into people arguing over if it should stay or go, rather then discussing the actual topic.

I'm moving on now.

While you say the stigma represents 6 in Greek, I don't think 6 people in the MH cast is the clearest conclusion to pull from it, but it's something.
I would look for a similarity that has to do with TTA and 6... Or maybe it is supposed to be just a weird curved S.

I apologize for the aforementioned elitism. It was kind of arrogant and presumptuous, and I'm sorry. Glad I could help in some small way.

Mods do it because they like to keep things organized and easily accessible, but as others kindly pointed out, that's not my job. I'll back off now.

One of the tenants of being an Unfiction mod is that we try and let forum-goers moderate yourselves as much as possible. That can and often does include pointing people to possible pre-existing threads in which to post, when it's appropriate and done in a respectful manner. I can also merge threads, if people agree to it and come to me about it, but it's largely not necessary for threads like this.

Threads like this one are in a grey kind of area. There are existing threads which would have encompassed this question just fine, but because this is a long-standing and unsolved piece of MH puzzle, it's not a problem that it exists independently either. It's all up to user discretion.

Also, Reverie, welcome to the forum. Smile
