TONS of New Super 8 Production Photos/Movie Stills!
SPOILER FREE!

http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/film/4852/gallery

They also just reviewed it, 9/10 Very Happy
Quote:

Whether it's a reflection of my age or just the quality of films today, I rarely watch a (modern) movie more than once. That's the strength of J.J. Abrams' captivating Super 8, his sci-fi thriller that has literally left me thinking about it days after. In fact, June 10th can't come soon enough as a second viewing is definitely in store -- sh*t, I may even buy it when it arrives on Blu-ray. That, my dear readers, is just shocking...

"" 'Super 8' can be simplified as 'E.T.' meets 'Cloverfield'... [it] truly is the beginning and the end of summer blockbusters. In fact, this is THE summer blockbuster of 1986. If Abrams' flick came out in the '80s, it would be the sole movie that everyone was in line for...""

REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS, SO BE CAREFUL

Here's a nice detailed story on the making of Super 8 that includes the pictures from geezyj's link.
http://www.huntingtonnews.net/4838
The section titled Shooting in the Steel Belt talks about filming in Weirton. I think the town hall scene that JJ talks about here was originally supposed to be shot in LA, but due to a rain delay for an outside shoot in Weirton they decided to go ahead and try using the local extras to do the inside scene. We weren't sure if they would end up using it or not - sounds like they liked it. I know some of the people who were in that scene and a few other scenes too. Can't wait to see who made it through the final cut. Too bad we can't pause and rewind at the theater.

So when's S8 coming out on blueray? Smile

The pic of the 2 kids standing on the threshold of the garage(?) appear to be looking down into a hole, any thoughts on that? Possibly a rope leading down into it? Thought it was rebar at first but not sure.
