@mule

Well I finally gave up and typed in what I figured it had to be and it was. The reason I was so confused is because I was reading the % as 96!!! Even with a magnifying glass! Rolling Eyes

Guess it's time for new glasses ..... Embarassed

Thanks for reinforcing there wasn't more to it than -- well then there was!

So this has been bugging me for a good two weeks now. I have found all the clues.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The map, the names and the numbers(both sets)
I have indexed everything that I could think of and use the other part of the theorem every way I could think of too. But I still need help.

I have made an account so you can PM me. I'm not looking for a flat out answer but a good hint will help.

By the way this form is great at giving help but not spoiling the fun.

I got it now. I got stuck thinking I needed to use one part of the theorem in a way it wasn't for. If that makes since.

Of highlights, disobediences and recursions.

That was a little bit too easy. Rolling Eyes

I'm still stuck with Recursion and Disobedience Mad

Edit: Nevermind! I think I figured out disobedience (:

When I saw it I immediately knew what to do, so I got it in ~5mins. Too easy.

Recursion

Okay, so I found all three boxes, have read all the articles and hints in this thread, and yet I still have no idea where to go to get the solution... Any help?

Shift Financial Business

Ok I think I am going down the right path, but it seems to have dead-ended...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
All of the clues seem to indicate a shift cipher... Shifting the ticker symbols by their daily change doesn't seem to lead to anything meaningful... I am not sure if the dates need to be used somehow? I can't figure out how they would be.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
If you have the contents of all 3 boxes, you simply need to answer the question posed by them. The answer is available on most pages on the subject, WikiPedia included.

Yes, the dates are useful. Also,
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
remember that you're trying to find the original stocks before the change. That means... Well, I think you can figure it out.

Remember what M said about history and you should be fine. Smile

I... might be getting closer?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I went the other way, and found 5 valid stock symbols. Using their opening/closing prices on the dates listed as indexes into the alphabet doesn't yield a word, nor does shifting those letters by the changes listed. The first symbol seems to have been recently adopted by a company - on the date listed, their symbol was different, but I couldn't find another company with that symbol. Also, the data for the 3rd symbol is odd - for the entire week around the date listed, the stock was only traded once. Most of the data is 0. I also tried using the stocks' actual change for the date listed, but that doesn't seem like the right path either.

I feel like it's right there for me... Amazing how the last puzzle took me about 45 seconds to see what needed to be done, and about 4 minutes to finish. This one is just killing me.

Don't bring real history into it. Everything's there in the picture they provide.

Oh, and instead of making another post: that Mapmaker on the site is our Mapmaker, right?

Thanks for getting me off the wrong track. That turned out to be a fairly fun and intuitive puzzle.

I am feeling like a total dork. I got the latest puzzle in just over 5 minutes, but cannot for the life of me figure out the Highlighter Seal. I can tell that it's totally obvious and easy, and yet I am drawing a complete blank. I just need a starting point...it must be summer vacation already...

Not sure if this needs a spoiler, but I will just to be safe...

Did you try highlighting?

I've read all three of the Wikipedia pages- the Master Theorem, the Recursion and the Recursion Computer science. I've also tried a whole bunch of significant words... Is it a phrase?
