I see a lot has happened! Good work on finding the dam. I had searched for things like "Dante's Dam" and "devil Dam", I didn't even know there was a Devil Gate Dam.

Yeah, I'm sure this is some kind of viral marketing for their reality show.

And yes, Lukas did comment on this video blog.

Yeah, I'm sure this is some kind of viral marketing for their reality show.

I'll take it one step further and suggest that the "failed" reality show was viral marketing for a movie currently in post-production. I will give credit to the marketing team for setting up so much of the background universe so long ago and in such a realistic fashion.

My evidence is all meta and behind-the-curtain, so do not reveal the spoiler unless you can continue to suspend your disbelief.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
A year ago, this LAGP group supposedly went to investigate a haunting and brought along a film crew to get footage for the pilot episode of their reality television series. The aftermath is hinted at on http://laghostpatrol.com/reality-show/

http://scifake.com/?p=3925 tells you why it was most likely a hoax the entire time.

The website www.maddieismissing.com is no longer registered -- but!
http://www.maddie-is-missing.com/ is live (and secured with a password) and is hosted on the exact same server IP address as:
http://laghostpatrol.com/
http://www.carolshaunting.com/
http://www.charonpictures.com/

The last one is the website of the producer of that reality TV pilot -- and an upcoming movie about that night (see here)
You'll see the producer is exchanging tweets with Carol as @susanbellfilm

speaking of twitter, btw, @Tsitluccoeht started following our own @thebruce0 and @wikibruce which just seems suspiciously like something an ARG character might do.

Or maybe I'm just a cynic, and in fact this is a real team of investigators that just got sucked into the vortex which is reality TV and paranormal pseudo-documentary movies.

Tsitluccoeht is following me, too.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
He's pretty obviously an ARG character, though. Has all the signs.

Yes please, since the current two.tif has nothing to do with the first 5 of 6 we got. Unless they are the same, in which case, no.

Bleh, well there goes my theory. Both one.tif and two.tif separately have that weird swirly static pattern, but when added together they just cancel each other out and become a normal image. Not saying there isn't anything more to them and I believe I understand the basic principle on how to make something like this, I just don't know how to reverse it and get what's hidden. {Edit: See below. Image removed}

Actually they do cancel and the difference is the embedded image.
Attached is the raw TIF difference (in PNG format, also lossless), and a color corrected version.

Painting? Very clearly hellish...

I got it, too. Not a pretty sight.
ETA: This seems to fit with the Dante's Inferno theme. The people in the middle ring of the 7th circle of Hell are mostly those who committed suicide, and they were turned into trees and bushes

Oh my! Well if you'd like to explain how you got it to me I'd most definitely love to hear for future reference! (PM is fine too!).

Anyway, I know the image as horrible as it is. It's the Forest of Suicides, also from Dante. {Edit: titled "Suicides and Squanderers" by Gustave Doré} http://www.muian.com/muian06/06Dore_DC037.jpg

Jumping from the Gate to the middle of the 7th circle:
Quote:
In this ring are the suicides (the violent against self), who are transformed into gnarled thorny bushes and trees, which are fed on by the Harpies.
(Edit 2: Masquedman ninjaed me Wink)

It goes well along with "Suicide Bridge" (obviously).

One overlaid on top of two in Gimp, and change the mode to difference on number one
