IIRC, Jeff just says he died last year.

But yes, I'm betting we're around the general time. The time itself may be very important, but Jeff's demeanor around it at the same time last year - well, I'm not so sure. For one thing, he's established that he put on a happy face over it for public consumption.

I personally believe they died before the first real Slendy sighting in Evan's home. That's what the letter seems to suggest to me - that when their parents died, EMH was little more than a fitness blog with their fake Slendy.

EDIT: There is the idea that Fairmount Jeff had no living family, and now his family is being very successfully hunted by the Rake. We don't know much about Fairmount Evan or Vinnie's families, but if Fairmount Evan's parents/mother was important, maybe Slenderman appearing last year in our Evan's parent's bedroom means something? This is grasping pretty hard, but it could relate to the cycle idea, or as qaqa told me, they may be intended to be isolated, and it is fair to consider the Fairmount Four to be isolated except from one another?

I'm not sure how it could be ADITL. ADITL came about due to the real Slendersightings - it was a pressure release for the guys, and likely was also intended to help Jeff and Alex, IMO. If they didn't see Slendy before the parents' deaths, then ADITL had not yet occurred. If.

I think all Jeff says in "---" is that Alex wasn't home. Am I thinking of the wrong video?

The circumstances of Jeff's parents' "accident" really are eerily similar to Ryan's. Because the parents' car went off the road into the water, we can't know if the glass was on the inside. But I bet it was.
And wow, it was Jeff they called in for the body identification on Ryan. With the echoes of his parents' deaths earlier in the year, that must have been hard. Harder, I mean, since seeing your dead friend would already be hard.

Looking over the timeline[1], I notice that there was a big gap in non-hidden production between April 26 and May 17. The May 17 video is also where we see get the first unambiguous, in-your-face sighting of the real Slenders, which would certainly mark the end of the period where they "had people bitching about the poor sightings of the suit in our early videos." Before that, the videos were coming regularly a week apart, not leaving much time for mourning. I feel comfortable speculating that Jeff's parents got Raked sometime in that three-week period.[2]

Interesting that Gein, Fish and Mengele would have been contemporaries to some extent. Does this imply that HABIT can jump bodies or that Mengele wasn't possessed until after Fish's death? And then Gein? Most of Mengele's more serious crimes would have been after 1936. He became a Nazi party member the next year, and moved through the ranks until becoming Head Doctor at Aushwitz in '43. He left there in '45. Ed Gein began exhuming human remains in '47, and committed his first murder in the early 50's...

Looks like we are getting a fairly laid out itinerary for HABIT...
